Fourteen states have enacted 22 new laws making it harder to vote

Most of the new laws restrict absentee and mail-in voting after a record number of Americans voted by mail in November. Another 61 bills are still advancing in state legislatures.

There is no longer any reason to try to “understand” these people. Nor should there be any compunction about doing whatever we can to read them out of American politics, because they clearly have opted out on their own. They should be considered anathema, as should the entire Republican Party and the modern conservative movement that animates it. Anything that can be done without including them should be done for the good—to say nothing of the sanity—of the country. Raw political power should be used to push through whatever of this administration’s policy priorities can be passed without any Republican help whatsoever. Majoritarianism should be invoked without mercy, and by whatever legitimate means necessary, and the window of opportunity to do that is closing fast.
It doesn’t matter if 53 percent of them say they believe the former president* is still the president* because they actually believe it, or they say it because it makes them one of The Elect. The effect on democracy is the same. They are poison in the bloodstream. And they’re proud of it.
Only 30% of Republicans feel confident that absentee or mail-in ballots were accurately counted, compared to 86% of Democrats and 55% of independents. As a result, 87% of Republicans believe it is important that the government place new limits on voting to protect elections from fraud. Finally, 63% percent of Republicans think Donald Trump should run for President again in 2024, compared to only 8% of Democrats and 23% of independents.
This is beyond the beyond. There is no compromise with this. There is no common ground. There is no deal to be struck. Millions of our fellow citizens are lost in rebellion against reality, and the only solution for the common good is to isolate them from decision-making and hope enough of them find their way back to make the country governable again. I’m not optimistic.

I don’t understand the hypocrisy here. Making sure the elections are more secure is important for anyone that votes. Illinois hasn’t purged voter rolls in a decade, they have also refused to provide said voter rolls to groups that have asked for them. That was made a law that voter rolls are supposed to be provided when requested.

Getting a verified ID isn’t hard to do. And honestly you need an ID for so many other day to day activities I have no idea how people operate without a state ID.

The issue with most vote recounts is they just look for the names to match the voter roll. The voter roll however is often outdated with dead members, moved to different counties, different states, different cities, etc.

If you want to be involved in voting then requiring this information to be updated every two years is necessary. It keeps home of records up to date and maybe we should move to fingerprints being put onto mail in ballots.

Requesting mail in ballots should also be done instead of a mass mail out to many times addresses that are invalid. We can do so much better to secure our voting and ensure only one person is voting once.

I all for the right to vote. But here is a question for these GOP ran stated that are making it harder for Americans to vote. With all these new laws that you are all putting out there don't you think they could cause problems for you also? By restricting the absentee and mail-in ballots, you are actually cutting off a lot of people that vote for you. Do the GOP really know why the loss in 2020 is because people help people to get to the polls, people actually went out and got people to register to vote. Yeah, there were a lot of mail-in ballots in 2020 but we were in the middle of a deadly virus where the senior that normally vote for the GOP could not get out. Also another group these laws will hinder to vote for the GOP are our Military personal.
I wonder if they realize that all this stuff they are trying to do in order to get Congress back in 2022 and hopefully the White House in 2024 Will Backfire on them.

We must all vote, period. The Republicans can not win if we do. If we take the time and vote they can't stop us. One of the problems is people don't vote and republicans get back in or get in with low number of votes. Republicans have in the past counted on low voter turn out and up to now it has worked for them, but the stakes are too high. The Republican Party is not the Party of reason and no where close to sanity. It has no regard for anyone that does not support their dollar above life policies.

Take Donald Trump to civil court and that is the first thing. How can he be free after what he did at US Capitol january 6th 2021 ATTACK US Capitol and United States of america. JUSTICE AND LAW in USA looks like there is no law everything is on video tape evidence like GOLD from stage january 6th every single word is evidence to attack US Capitol and the constitution in United States of america and the Citizens life in USA and inside US Capitol. People who was inside that day must sue the director of the riot at US Capitol DONALD TRUMP.

I love it. They're only making it harder on folks trying to cheat. Ohhhh noooo stricter ways to confirm ID and a person is really who they say they are, and eliminating late voting/ vote counts AFTER election day is such a bad thing. Ensuring ballots don't go to the same person twice, 3 or 4 times and dead people, pets, ILLEGALS, and SSNs that don't exist can't vote anymore.

Yeah because truck loads of votes showing up at 3am 2 days after the polls closed that somehow didn't have a single Trump vote among them wasn't suspicious.

Shame on our courts for not investigating. Over 100 witnesses testified under oath on the Senate Floor as to have observing mass fraud occur at polling places yet not a single minute of time was given to look in. And no wonder all these states that went blue are fighting against audits. They know they're dirty.

How the courts handled 2020 compared to 2016 is all i need to know. When Jill Stein and Hillary requested investigations they immediately were granted. Trump's legal team nothing. I dont care about judges or politicians who'll say anything to save face. They don't decide our elected officials We the People do. Biden didn't win legitimately but politicians and judges too afraid of further civil disturbance and to upset their sponsors dont want to speak up. So far its only "Biden won because we said so". Good on these states for taking matters into their own hands as our courts failed the legal voters.

Post-election update from Georgia and Wisconsin

By Mike Huckabee

If the 2020 election taught us anything, it’s that we have to be able to trust the system, with complete transparency and a fully auditable outcome. But officials in Georgia, as in Arizona, are acting as if they hadn’t learned that lesson –- or else as if they knew something they were desperate to hide.

In breaking news Thursday, a meeting scheduled for Friday at a ballot storage warehouse as part of a ballot integrity case in Fulton County, Georgia, was canceled after officials filed what was described as a “flurry” of motions. The Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections and the county clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts filed these motions, and Henry County Superior Court Judge Brian Amero said they must be heard before plaintiffs may gain access to the ballots, and he has proposed the new date of June 21, though it still hasn’t been scheduled. So the county is able to delay a few more weeks. Delay, delay, delay.

At least the lead petitioner in the case, Garland Favorito, sees a silver lining. “It seems like a desperation move,” he told THE EPOCH TIMES, adding that they now have time to perfect the changes they were having to make in their inspection plan, though he didn’t say what those are. Also, Judge Amero said during the hearing that since there had been no motion to dismiss, petitioners could obtain some discovery. Some finer points of their legal wrangling are contained in ET’s premium story.

Lawyers for the county –- and almost certainly there are other outside attorneys involved in this fight –- were urging the judge to refuse the plaintiffs access to the ballots. Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts, a Democrat, said in a statement, “It is outrageous that Fulton County continues to be a target of those who cannot accept the results from last year’s election.” Gosh, he sounds just like the Democrat on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors who ranted about people upset that “their guy” didn’t win.

These people just don’t understand: IT’S NOT THAT. They are misrepresenting what this fight is about. You don’t protect democracy by slamming the door shut on the process that selects the winner. If Republicans had presided over the kinds of wild irregularities we saw last November, Democrats would never stop screaming about it. Nor should they.

Meanwhile, in Wisconsin the election isn’t escaping scrutiny, either. State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, a Republican, says he’s hiring a team of three retired police officers, highly skilled investigators, to probe some aspects of the election that received “thousands” of complaints. In an interview with the WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL, he said he believes Biden won but that there were “irregularities” in how the vote was conducted that need to be checked out. The officers will review all allegations and focus on the most credible ones.

Recall that Wisconsin was one of the states that got millions of dollars from a group called the Center for Tech and Civic Life, which is funded by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. The five largest cities in Wisconsin got a total of $6.3 million in grants, and it apparently came with some strings attached. Much of the money funded unmanned dropboxes that were reportedly placed where CTCL specified they should go. About 200 municipalities across the state got CTCL money.

According to the story at the link, a judge found that there was nothing in the law to prohibit the use of that money. But I think this is something that really warrants a closer look. Much as they might want millions of dollars in outside grant money, state legislatures need to think seriously about passing laws against it. States don’t need these outside groups coming in and giving them money with strings attached, telling them how to conduct their elections, especially when the changes they demand make it easier to cheat. Simply put, there's just something wrong about this.

"It is Memorial Day weekend. This weekend is our time as a nation to honor our Fallen. It is our dedicated time to reflect on our war fighters, those who paid the ultimate price for our Freedom," Code of Vets, a veteran advocacy organization, told Harris.
"It's just a 'long weekend' for this fraud. I have several dead buddies that disagree," Buzz Patterson, a Republican congressional candidate, said.
"...and pay tribute to the courageous men and women of our nation's military who sacrificed their lives in defense of our freedoms and liberties," Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) corrected.
"Real misfire here. It is a long weekend. It's also Memorial Day weekend, which means far more that our government officials should acknowledge: a time to remember and honor the millions of Americans who lost their lives in our nation's defense," Paul Szoldra, editor of military news website Task and Purpose, said.
"As the proud daughter and granddaughter of 2 vets, I'm disgusted by Kamala's ignorance about Memorial Day. This clueless woman should never be one step away from the Presidency," Fox News host Jeanine Pirro said.
"As the @VP enjoys a long weekend, maybe she could read a couple of books on the sacrifices made by those we honor with this holiday," former Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) said.
"This is more than a 'long weekend' for the thousands of fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters who's loved ones will never return," Rep. Madison Cawthorn, said.
"Harris, show some respect for the heroes who paid the ultimate price for our freedom," Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded.
"America is honoring our fallen, Kamala is honoring herself," Kassy Dillon noted.
"This is unreal. No regard or gratitude for the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation. Could you possibly be more obtuse, @VP?" Jessie Jane Duff said.
"Care to mention WHY we're having a long weekend, Kamala?" Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) said. https://l.facebook.com/l....uIRXm8f1mAgb8Tg
