Biden nixes Trump proposal that would have kicked 3 million off food stamps

In one of its latest steps to erase Trump administration policies, the Biden administration has withdrawn a controversial proposal that could have kicked 3 million Americans off of food stamps and cost nearly 1 million children automatic eligibility for free school meals.

Some here are severely judgmental and callous. I lost all in Bush crash. I went hungry. Told at a food bank I earned to much. I had 150 after room rent and phone per month and had to buy a bus pass too. People thought I lost weight then from only hard work. Relegated to bagging and dragging in carts at age 57. I didnt have enough food. My doctor told me to stop loosing weight. I said are you going to buy me groceries. He stared at me and walked out. But way to go all of you that have never had any issues in life?!

Its going to take time to undo 3 years of greed and revenge policy. Meanwhile I agree with Terrie White below my post Take back those giant tax cuts.
Adding...aree some of you nuts? Do you know that the British tax starts at 42K. Ours starts at 28k. All have free medical on 7% of the gross tax. USA private healtblh costs 9% of income employee and employer whike leaving millions without. My sister worked 5 years full time at last company. Owner refused to get a plan. Its optional. Since the 80s many companies are replacing 1 full time job with 2 part time. Sure job growth looks good but ive not worked full time since 2001 and not by choice!!!! And they... the gop... keep upping my full vetted retirement age for SS. If you work part time you dont get full money. So dont even go to the we are living off everyone crap. If you marginalize a mass portion of the country then you have to take care of them. Besides the ones crabbing about this I know are first in line for any handouts. All red states are deficit in paying federal tax. They benefit the most. And McConnell gave bourbon makers and trotting horse sport a giant state tax cut last year making kentucky dead last of user stats. I want that a crime. Purposely lowering your gdp. And he sent all Kentucky jobs to his wife's relatives in china. Where they all get the same USA tax cuts.
The UK middle and rich happily pay proper taxes. Plus my same age cousins in Scotland got free trade school in high school. One a master certificate as electrician.

The ABAWD program was for able bodied adults without children. It was put into place with welfare reform under Bill Clinton. When the unemployment rates were high under Obama the ABAWD program requirements were paused. Under Trump unemployment rates decreased, therefore the program under welfare reform rules for states were to be put back into place. Then covid hit and it was paused again. Stop CNN, I do food stamps, get it right and report correctly. Trump did not do welfare reform, ABAWD only encourages able bodied adults without children to work, look for work or go to training. Get it right CNN. https://www.usda.gov/site...d-factsheet.pdf

Every Sunday and Wednesday we will bring you “Good News of the Week.” The fake news media is doing all it can to discourage and demoralize you with its propaganda and lies. We want to show you that we are WINNING on many fronts. There will be MANY more wins, so take courage!

Good News of the Week, June 6, 2021:
1. President Trump was greeted with a standing ovation at the NC GOP State Convention yesterday. He covered a lot of topics and vowed, “We’re going to take back our country.” You can watch his speech on RSBNetwork.com.

2. At the same convention, Georgia’s RINO governor, Brian Kemp, was greeted by a chorus of loud, sustained boos. Kemp spoke for approximately 30 seconds before it was quiet enough for those in the press area to hear him speak.

3. Senior Advisor of the Trump Administration, Jason Miller, confirmed that President Trump will launch his own social media platform this summer. It is in the beta testing phase now and will launch sometime between Independence Day and Labor Day.

4. President Trump has been issuing a lot of statements this week. After Facebook announced that they will censor him for two years, he responded by saying, “Next time I’m in the White House there will be no more dinners, at his request, with Mark Zuckerberg and his wife. It will be all business!”

5. Hundreds of pages of Fauci’s e-mails were obtained through a FOIA request. Since their release, Fauci has been forced to admit that COVID-19 could have come from the Wuhan lab, his upcoming book has been scrubbed for pre-order from Amazon and Barnes & Noble websites, and Steve Scalise has sent a letter to Democrats demanding they call Fauci to testify before Congress.

6. Georgia Senator Burt Jones will lead a delegation of GA lawmakers to Arizona early this week. They will meet with their counterparts, discuss election integrity and how to replicate the audit, tour the audit facility and get a brief from the AZ forensic audit team.

7. A federal judge overturned California’s 32-year ban on “assault rifles.” The judge called the ban a failed experiment that violates people’s constitutional right to bear arms and that deprives law-abiding Californians of weapons commonly allowed in most other states and by the U.S. Supreme Court.

8. A survey of more than 40,000 found that 31% of Americans are either unwilling to get the jab or uncertain that they will get it.

9. CNN continues to lose viewers. Compared to last May, they have lost 44% of their daytime viewers and 45% of primetime viewers. They are not even on the list of the top five primetime cable networks anymore. More people are now watching HGTV in the evenings than CNN.

10. Twitter deleted a tweet from the Nigerian president, so Nigeria banned Twitter from operating in their country “indefinitely.”

11. General Charles A. Flynn, General Michael Flynn’s younger brother, has assumed command of U.S. Army Pacific.

12. Surry County, NC, has voted to ban all Coca-Cola vending machines in its office buildings over the soft drink maker’s criticism of Georgia’s new laws to strengthen election integrity.

13. Governor Greg Abbott has issued a disaster declaration in Texas’ southern border counties due to the overwhelming influx of illegal immigrants. Abbott has also ordered the a crackdown on human trafficking, smuggling and criminal trespassing while enforcing all federal and state laws to confont the crisis.

14. Some county sheriffs in Texas have begun charging illegal aliens for child endangerment, trespassing, and evading arrest on foot.

15. Three Virginia Sheriffs have switched from Democrat to Republican due to Democrat politicians’ attacks on police officers at the state and national levels.

16. The best news is that we have a Savior named Jesus who came into the world and died for us on the cross so we could have eternal life. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household.” Acts 16:31

A left-wing advocacy group funded by George Soros and backed by 30 House Democrats is planning a yearlong campaign for a “Third Reconstruction” that includes abolishing ICE, expanding welfare for illegal immigrants, and removing criminal penalties for violent protesters.

The Poor People’s Campaign, which received a grant from the Soros-backed Open Society Foundations following the death of George Floyd as part of the organization’s $220 million “anti-racist” initiative, held a Day of Action on Monday to kick off its crusade. The group counts Democratic Reps. Cori Bush (D., Mo.), Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.), and Jamie Raskin (D., Md.) as top supporters, with the “Third Reconstruction” described to the Washington Free Beacon by a senior GOP Senate aide as the “next Green New Deal.”

The “Third Reconstruction” includes a laundry list of far-left demands such as automatic voter registration, a single-payer health care system, a reparations commission, and “relief from student debt, housing debt, utilities debt, medical debt, and other household and personal debt that cannot be paid.” Despite proposing that the dozen-plus programs, estimated to cost well into the trillions of dollars, be financed “using deficit spending,” the “Third Reconstruction” calls for a 10 percent cut to the military budget.

a lot of people on Food stamps are on them because they barely make enough money to live on have to choose between paying bills and eating, i have been there, and know the struggle, the last place i worked had cut me down to 25 hrs a week, the only people that got more hrs were the young ones, still living at home and management, i was expected to be on call at all times though, say i was at a job interview, and they called me to come in and i could not right at that moment, or did not answer the phone because i was in an interview, they cut my hours for the rest of the week, if i did come in, and at that time i had to walk to work because i had to give up my car. could not afford it, they would send me home after 3 hrs, and take me off the schedule for 2 or 3 days, so i did not get more than 25 hrs then even on scheduled days they would send me home after about 3 or 4 hours, then call me back in as soon as i was walking into my door, for another 2 hrs, then send me home only to call me back once i got home again. for an hour or 2 I had to have food stamps, to make ends meet. luckily i got out of that job, and have a much better job. if jobs paid more, and actually gave 40 hrs a week there would be less people that needed food stamps. then they could use that money for other things, hell if we would get on board with UBI, they would be able to cut food stamps out almost all together, because people would have the money for bills, and every thing else, yes you would still have to work, for those that can, but EVERY one would have that extra money, and most would not need food stamps. if you could cut food stamps in half that would be more Gov. money, people would be able to afford housing, pay bills and be able to eat.
