We changed everything — except our tuna, Subway CEO says

Subway is updating its entire menu — the biggest change in its history

And of course the idiot CEO that drove the The business into the ground and destroyed who knows how many franchises across the country doesn’t get it.

Subway is failing across-the-board because it serves dog food, an approximation of food, not real food. Jimmy John’s and Snarfs Sandwiches give you real food that is palatable for your money, Subway does not. They quite consciously jettisoned the basics when it comes to the restaurant business, the food is what counts. And they did it in the name of profit margins

And this clown and his friend squeezed out The last little bit of profit by putting plastic in the bread and using the very lowest quality ingredients they could possibly find. And now they tell themselves that all they need is a refresh to make a come back, it’s not going to happen this Company will be bankrupt within five years because they don’t have management that cares enough about the brand to do the right thing, they’d rather just keep gaming the suckers until they parachute out after the bankruptcy. A whole lot of other suckers who got suckered into buying these dying franchises will lose everything and have no recourse in the courts when it all falls apart. They will end up with nothing.

I worked at Subway, once upon a time. With all honesty the tuna then actually was tuna. The packaging labels, the color, the taste. We did have to mix it down with an exaggerated amount of mayonnaise. But then again that’s how people want it anyway. subway once served the “prime rib steak sandwich.” It was magnificent compared to the crap cheesesteak sandwich they have now. And they took away roast beef recently. I guess if people want premium meats they’re gonna have to pony up the dough. (Sigh) once upon a time there was $5 footlongs. Those were the days. Be grateful Subway doesn’t serve hotdogs! Who knows what meat from where those would be. But that’s something else.

The problem seems to be, and many comments confirm that subway is cheap as hell on the customer. Prices have continued to increase yet many of the subs have less product. The last time I went to subway, the owner literally measured out 6 olives, tiny little tomato slices and a sprinkle of every other vegetable. The entire sub weighed a few ounces which is rediculous because I could go to any actual sub shop or pizza place and get a sub that weighs 10x that for a dollar more and it's worth it. That was the last time I'll probably ever go to subway. Growing up, a foot long sub from subway was a decent meal, now it's like a snack that weighs slightly more than tissue paper and other than the brand and franchise, there is no reason to waste money on it.

My god when last time I ate subway a few years ago. I had tuna sandwich. The bread, tuna and some vegetables had discoloration. I asked them how fresh is it. They said yesterday. I was like u guys r gross and r trying to poison people. For 4 years since I saw everything in subway I stopped eating and buying from them. Plus they r not subway eat fresh! Eat junk and expired foods. Mr sub is way healthier and better. They have better selections like wraps and seafood. Subway doesn’t have more varieties. I would get rid of subway and put mr. sub instead

Special place in my heart for Subway since I put myself through my first year of college working there.
Back in the day when working there you had to put together all the combos yourself in the morning. Like actually slice all the meat, then assemble the cold cut combo, the b.m.t, the Italian and so forth. Now I hear they come frozen and assembled already.
I feel like when employees did it themselves it was much fresher.
They also used to have crab meat sandwiches which I loved. They should bring those back!
Some of these “new” items like the “fresh Cali steak” sandwich they had back in the 90s but they called it a “steak and cheese” sandwich. Overall, the menu hasn’t changed much in 25 years but I wish them much success and I still eat there at least once a month.

Ok, here's my story. I entered the Subway and was followed in by a guy who had just come from the vaping shop next door. There was already one person in line and I expected the guy to get in line behind me. Alas, he went directly to the employee door, emerged and took his place behind the counter. He did not wash his hands, and did not bother with gloves. I asked him, did you just come from next door to which he replied, "yes". Needless to say, my exit was immediate. I actually got a response from the franchisee, who was appalled. That was maybe 5 years ago. No second chances for me. It's something I can never unsee. I always wondered what happened to the other person in line.

Looks the same. Still have all same sandwiches but maybe they replace their fake gmo meats for real ones. Coz the turkey taste different… like real. The Cali turkey was offered for free yesterday and was delicious. They wouldn’t let me add salt and pepper on it. Available as is, which is fine. One location premade the Cali turkey and just handed to me from the fridge. I honestly went to five subways yesterday and 4/5 had bad attitudes and angry faces. They also need better customer services. Only one spot in Vegas had great sandwiches with a smile. I also ordered the chicken breast and the cold cut trio… also tasted the same. Guess they only changed the ham and turkey? I would put all veggies on it but then end up eating just the meat and avoiding all for some reason. Don’t think I liked their bread and veggies either. Fake??

Tuna was mainly the only thing I liked on the menu… Maybe coz it’s real. Yes, I read the articles but I’m the end it was 100% real after all.
