Opinion: Racism is setting impossible standards for athletes of color

Two recent examples of racial intolerance in sports offer a sobering reminder that racism is a global crisis that is often resistant to progress, writes Peniel E. Joseph for CNN Opinion

Meanwhile CNN, and every other news site, jumps on the most current black athlete and bashes them over their drugs, mental illness, or jail time. Richard Sherman is the latest and they’ll run 1-2 articles on him for the next week until the next one.
Media acts like they’re saviors yet all they do is make them look bad. Way to go there CNN
Like the old saying goes- “Mind your business” about someone’s personal life. How about some real news like the military doing police training now. Or the massive solar storm that’s emitting radiation and messing with ppl’s phone and tv signals along with whatever else.

I have mixed feelings about the fans racist reactions to this because im a basketball fan and if a white bball player had the chance to win the game for my team and miss a easy basket then I do say things that are racist about that player and believe it or not everything is about race in the humans life.Tell me just one place on this earth that has multiple race of people and they only go by those people name and yes its ok to know their race just in case a emergency happen and they need to be identified but to know what race someone is when filling out jobs applications or homes etc is all about race

Racism…Racism…Racism…C’mon people, you’re getting too cynical about racism. There will always be ignorant people and insensitive human beings in this world but racism is not a global problem. It’s a leftist Marxist exaggeration of the issue to push their critical theory ideologies. Marxists long strategy is to disrupt order or topple structures of societies by utilizing demagogueries, euphemisms and critical theories in order to push their socialist agendas. They’ve been attempting this since the 60’s in Europe Do you wonder why Asians, Middle Easterners, most native Africans, Pacific Islanders don’t care of the “racism” leftist sentiments? Because most discrimination they suffer is within their own race. They understand that the world is imperfect but they don’t need to always see things in presumptive negative judgment. Especially to make every issue about race. There’s this personality, personal responsibility, mental mindset, character and attitude involved in every interaction in our society Racism is never every nation’s issue and neither it is global. To make everything about race is idiocy and cynical
