Mississippi health officer warns about Covid-19 surge that has put 7 children in intensive care

The rise in hospitalizations comes as Mississippi has the lowest vaccination rate in the US, according to data from the CDC

The pandemic is not over for any of us because of the unvaccinated. While those of us who are vaccinated are safer for now, those who are unvaccinated are in dire jeopardy of both catching and spreading the Delta virus, which does have some breakthrough for the vaccinated. And they are in a position to allow still more mutation, more variants, which our current vaccines may not address. Virus will mutate. That is a scientific fact. If they could just die from covid without endangering the rest of the population it would be one thing. But that isn’t how it works. It is still incumbent upon all of us to insist that the unvaccinated, unless they have pre-existing conditions that preclude it, get vaccinated ASAP! It is very much our business to protect ourselves from them. Not to mention the children who aren't vaccinated needing to be, and those needing to be protected until they are old enough.

Any death or sickness is sad and can be devastating. Here’s a little perspective from the article

Despite the recent rise, Mississippi's hospitalization numbers are at about the same level as in May, and are down 80% from the peak in early January, when mass vaccination efforts had just begun.
In general, young people can become infected with Covid-19 and spread it to others but are far less likely to experience severe effects from the illness. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, children under 18 account for 12.5% of US Covid-19 cases but just 0.1% of deaths, while people over 50 make up 95% of Covid-19 deaths.

The vaccines are experimental period. Why would anyone inject something they don’t know about and changes daily into their child? Not to mention the risk of children dying is not high. People are at risk either way and if you believe the vaccine works than don’t worry you are protected. I had a healthy family member die after second shot, so stop saying they save lives when you have no idea really. We all are just trying to survive and media can manipulate us however they want too. So it’s up to each person and their family to make the right decision for their family. Not the Government. God is in control and we are living in Biblical times. It is not going to get better. The 7 year tribulation is coming. Scripture is unfolding. That’s where the real truth lies. Get saved and pray for discernment during these difficult times.

People keep blaming the unvaccinated....how people think they are safer because they got the shot..but yet experts say you can still get covid ever after receiving....and certainly has no merit on the new strain... NOBODY really knows what to expect since it's still in the trial and error phase...the rules have changed 100x's since the beginning..masks help...no they don't...etc..etc... Instead of people attacking one another for their freedom to choose one way or another..why don't the people ban together??? After all this was the plan in the first place..to further separate the people!! Why?? Because there is POWER in numbers!! At the end of the day we are ALL human beings FIRST!!!! I might add there is NO WAY IN HELL we should be ok with giving our children something that is in the trial and error phase because the lasting effects are still NOT known....

Seven kids are in the ICU, two of them on ventilators. Yes, kids with additional health issues are at greater risk, but kids with additional health issues, and adults with additional health issues, are worth protecting. It's a problem that so many people are so misinformed about the vaccines, or unable to weigh the relative risk of the vaccines (real, but tiny) and of COVID-19 (real and quite significant) and recognize that they need to get themselves and their kids (12 and up) vaccinated. It's a problem that some people who recognize the importance of the vaccines still don't have access, whether because of their jobs not allowing any time off or because they're rural and can't get to a clinic. And it's a problem for everyone, because the longer people stay unvaccinated, the more variants will emerge.

I am dismayed by the misinformation, but also by the lack of compassion. We're all in this together.

Looks like we are all for letting children die. Seems to be the favorite activity now in Houston and seems to be spreading. If the criminals don't take their playgrounds kill or intimidate them then their parents ensure they have a long miserable life with lack of oxygen. Similar to cerebral palsey. As a teacher I had to listen to parents brag as well as their kid how they were NOT doing their lessons. Now gripe because the teacher looks like they cannot teach them. Well the parent set the standard and stated school was worthless. Now kids are so worthless that adults walk around taking things and assaulting in front of them instead of using venues to get help. The legislature refuses the fifteen dollar wage ensuring their parents stay in poverty forever so the drug dealer and the pimp will have plenty to use in a few years.Starts at 13 years old.

There is an epidemic of obesity in the US. The rates are higher in states like Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. This includes kids. Metabolically, some of these kids are getting type II diabetes as teens. This comorbidity makes them susceptible to severe Covid. The 13-17 age group will suffer more deaths and long covid than they will myocarditis from vaccination. Delta is way more contagious than Alpha or the novel strain. Yet, politicians are willing to sacrifice the lives of their constituents to stay in power. They call us Sheep. When I think of them, all I can see is the fairy tale The Pied Piper.

Teens, if you want to be fully vaccinated, but your anti-vaxx parents are refusing, don't despair, depending on your age, you can still get up to date in all your vaccines. In fact, getting properly vaccinated, and ensuring you have proper preventative health care, is the PERFECT way to show you understand you have the right to control your own body.

How you do this is to look up your states' laws and check what the age limit is for you to get vaccinated without parental permission. All 50 states has laws stating their age limits for minor consent, as does the US territories and most other nations do as well. For some it's as young as 12, for some it's as old as 16. Though, sadly, some states do not allow you to have that right until you turn 18.

These laws allow you to get some health care without your parents' permission, in fact you don't have to tell them a thing if you don't want to. Though I never encourage teens to hide things from their parents, they should be open and honest, but also careful. But still, it is up to you to let your parents know if you make the choice, or if you don't want them to know, well, HIPAA law states you have that right as well.

For more information, ask your local physician, an actual physician not naturopaths or holistic healers, and ask them to help you figure out the age limit you need to be to get your shots without having to be held back. Remember teens, it really IS your choice.

In Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina,Tennessee, Washington and West Virginia, young men and women aged 12 and up can go and get their vaccinations without any parental permission or consent.

In Washington DC, the age limit is 11 years old, kids starting at 11 can get vaccinated without parental permission if they wish.
