1ºIf it offends you so much, that people want to change some of these old, out of date, unimaginative racist names, why is that?

"There are more than 600 geographic sites with the term "negro" in the name, according to a database by the US Geological Survey. With pushes in both Vermont and Texas to change names containing the word "negro," similar movements may occur across the country.
With hundreds of sites still bearing negro -- and even more still with words like "squaw," "Chinaman" and "Redskin" -- there is still work to be done on the renaming front.And change is seemingly happening in other states, too.
In February, the Board on Geographic Names approved name changes for Squaw Creek in Iowa, Mulatto Mountain in North Carolina and Squaw Tits in Arizona, to be known now as Ioway or Story Creek, Simone Mountain and Isanaklesh Peaks respectively."
Obviously there are many offensive names throughout the US when it comes to places, I mean this is the USofA, but I just want to know why this strong push over changing the name of the fish when this has apparently been a known issues for years now. So much so that even TEXAS changed some of the offensive ones about Black Americans to actual historical Black people.
Every state should adopt less offensive names for their sites out of respect for those that live there and for tourists, international and domestic, as well.
2ºi'm not saying not to rename it.. but maybe something other than 'invasive' because now for a generation people will be associating 'asian carp' with 'invasive carp' and that doesn't create a nice vibe or help the situation as much as finding a name that doesn't have a racial or negative connotation to it at all.
'mississippi new carp" ... no don't use that name it's a terrible name but it's an example, it has no negative connotation to it when relearning and associating the name from 'asian carp'... and i didn't even try (obviously), using 'invasive carp' just brings in negative association and will maintain the problems they seek to solve longer than they would otherwise.
