No fans, fun or sex? Inside the pandemic-delayed Olympics

Large numbers of condoms have been given out at the Games since the 1988 Seoul Olympics to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS. This year, organizers are planning to give away about 150,000 condoms -- but only once athletes check out.

Some insist that, 'Because bad things happen, God does not exist.' I ask this: 'Since bad things happen which are far bigger than you or me, who do you think is going to fix it?' (We're all in this together and interested in any solutions, cures, and heroes who have been discovered, so please share). As it turns out, far from disproving God's existence, the presence of evil in the world only highlights His necessity. Our need for Him is real and crystallized all the more by the jagged knife of pain and suffering. Who else can deliver? Our hearts desire a restoration and redemption that is universal, timeless, permanent, and complete. And yet, this most-longed-for cure happens to lie beyond our ability to manufacture for ourselves, however sincere and valiant our efforts. And the shadows of despair grow large without it. And if not God, who is going to provide it? Seriously, let's hear the nominations. We're all listening and desperate here, so speak up and share! ... How long will we lament our broken condition, while cursing The God who makes everything new?

"Then I heard a loud voice from the throne:

Look! God’s dwelling is with humanity, and He will live with them.
They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will no longer exist; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away.
Then the One seated on the throne said, “Look! I am making everything new.” "
