1ºIt is one thing to witness levels of extreme greed which bring some people to a place where they are willing to see people harmed if they believe they will gain some short term profit from it. We have sadly seen far too many examples of people who discover a product causes harm and then they deny the research and science and seek to discredit a whistleblower rather than actually try to change their product or find another way to earn a living. We have seen it with opioids, with toxins released into springs and dumped into landfills where wells are poisoned, with the evidence that cigarettes cause cancer….but now the scale of it is the entire planet as fossil fuel interest continue to try to promote the last moment of power and profit for some few at the expense of conditions which offer humans the ability to survive on a world…..Just where do these wealthy few believe they will escape to? They cannot live in some lavish estate while the people of another country are dying of the cancers from their plant, or go to some “other nation” while the weapons they sold destroy the cities and culture of a land for some “lucrative little war.” We are all on this shared ship. It is our communal ark and their greed, short sighted selfishness and foolishness in the end culminates in their own destruction as well. We need to come together to work towards slowing what changes we may. Healing what may still be saved. Shifting towards clean energy sources and renewable technologies. Solving massive problems which threaten all of us with the best and brightest we have on this planet and the will and passion of the many who really do care for our children and wish to offer them a future.
