1ºWhat makes coronavirus so special and long lasting is its ability to adapt quickly through mutation. Man will always have micro organisms chasing him. We aren't the only living creatures on this planet. The virus doesn't want to kill the host. It is working hard to survive. Death to a host is a side effect caused by a weakness in the host. If you are a healthy person and young, you may fare well if you contract COVID. It is possible you have small weaknesses in your makeup that won't do well against the virus and you may be left with short or even long term after effects. If your weaknesses are important enough to your survival, you will have to be hospitalized. Severe sickness and/or death may follow. Getting vaccinated causes your immune system to protect those weaknesses. Mild symptoms at best. Little chance of having to be hospitalized. That's good because if a member of your family needs emergency care, they would find a bed available at a hospital that would otherwise be taken by someone who chose not to vaccinate.
