Incredibly sad situation for everyone involved. If I were on the jury, I would not have found Potter guilty of the charges brought against her. That said, yes, she was guilty of making a very bad mistake that took a precious life, no argument there, her extensive training taught her better. But lesser charges would have been more appropriate IMO. She served as a police officer for many years, had never drawn her gun, never disciplined, never exhibited racial bias. The rookie cop should never have pulled over Wright for the minor infraction, and Wright should not have resisted. I think this is a salad of circumstances where everything that could possibly go wrong - did.

this is the new world we created criminals and thugs have more rights than the working-class citizens. The Boy was being raised to be nothing more than a thug. No way was he going to be an upstanding citizen with values and morals. One less fool to deal with in the future.
That kid did not deserve to die but had he not been up to no good. Things like this don't happen for no reason. The kid was well on his way to being a full-fledged gangbangers. I wonder how many deaths were prevented. MY OPINION. Just food for thought. And no I have no empathy

Seeing comments saying people wont want to be a cop after this case is pretty idiotic. If someone doesn’t want to be a cop because they think that they wont get away with shooting an unarmed person GOOD. Someone who thinks that way should not BE a cop. I live in Toronto, and saw one of the most impressive stories I’ve ever seen take place in this city. A psycho ran over a bunch of people in a van, he got cornered by a single officer, was even brandishing a knife. This officer did not shoot the man. He used his training, de-escalated the situation, and made an arrest. The person he arrested probably deserved to be shot, and the officer could have gotten away with it, but chose to do everything in his power to make a clean arrest. That is what policing needs to be all over the world.

Ap news- It comes down to, what relevance does this have in relationship to explaining why they are trying to arrest this guy,” he said.

Prosecutors say Potter had no knowledge of Wright’s prior criminal charges. If that’s the case, jurors likely won’t hear that Wright was charged with aggravated robbery after a 2019 arrest for allegedly demanding money from a woman at gunpoint, choking her and trying to pull the money from under her bra, where she had placed it, according to the complaint.

The matter was pending at the time of Wright’s death.

Defense attorneys have also asked the court to admit other allegations against Wright into evidence. Chu has ruled that a photo of Wright holding a gun will not be admitted.

This officer has shown remorse for the mistake she made. In society nowadays the instant reactions of a police officer can be seconds before their own life could be taken. Ask yourself why we have so many criminals walking around with warrants and evading the law. Ask yourself why any young person would even want to be a police office when a split second decision could ruin their life. People might think justice is served but the next time an officer is shot ask yourself why! Police officers don’t have a normal job but one with tough decisions to make daily hoping they make it home.

First off, some of you people sound dumb as f@$k!! Everyone always screams comply, comply, comply. I could name several that did and suffered the same fate as Daunte. The fact of the matter is he didn't deserve to die!! So what, he was he trying to drive off. He wasn't a threat to any of them. Her partner was handling things just fine. She wanted to be the Big Bad Wolf, and now she can enjoy her prison sentence. If any of you believed that this officer mistook her gun for a taser, you're all dumb as rocks!! If this were a white child, I guarantee you, she would've let him drive off! We're sick of officers taking out their frustrations and racism on our children. Bye Bye

There are many Very different ways the two weapons operate. The tazze is completely different in design, weight, colors, and Function. There's almost no way to confuse the two, especially when you wear them and check them every day as part of your career. She's been covering other cop murders, as seen on previous videos. When you look at her patterns of behavior as an officer, one may not overlook the possibility of Karma being at play in her case. Her Racist hate blinded her to the value of life, so she destroyed lives, then in turn destroyed her own. Hate is self-destructive, That's a fact jack...

Let's see Mr Write had previously been arrested for choking a women not once but twice and then robbing her of $820. He was out on bail and didn't show for his court date so therefore he was a fugitive and had a warrent for his arrest. He was pulled over for failing basic traffic laws then they discovered he had the warrent and a suspended license and no registration. Furthermore he was resting arrest and attempting to flee the scene. The officer made a huge mistake in the heat of a moment with a split second decision but with 26 years as an officer I cannot make an excuse for her either. Now is Mr Write responsible for his own actions ? Had he not done any of those things he would be alive today ... or did the system fail him when they released him on bail instead of holding him till his court date ??? This all started with Mr Write and his decisions he made. Follow the law be a good human

This was a very politically motivated decision.
The defence team did not push the #justification for lethal force once Daunte got into the car to flee his arrest. Once he got into the vehicle with engine running, he tried to drive away and actually shifted gears and had his foot on the peddle BEFORE he was shot.. that means a taser will no longer be effective and every police officer had the right to light this little goofball up.
#DUANTE got shot and he deserved it.. And he died as he deserved.
#KimPotter is a #HERO and saved more lives that day than she took, even though she didn’t mean to.

10ºYes, the Frumpy Housewife look didn't help her as they thought it would. And, the judge revoked her bail even though her defense attorneys said that she was Catholic and wanted to spend time with her family. Sentencing won't be until Feb. 18, 2022 so it's nice she'll still be in jail. It's predicted she'll get around 7 years, but we can always hope for more. A couple of cops that were witnesses said they thought her actions were justified, to either taser or shoot with her gun. I guess these idiots will think differently about that in the future.
