1ºIt's a straw man abortion law that reflects anti-abortion rhetoric. If, somehow, an aborted fetus was developed enough to live, an effort would automatically be made to save it. But, it's only likely to occur if the fetus were much further developed than would be normal and the abortion was done as some life saving effort for a mother in crisis so they don't lose both mother and fetus. The doctor will make their best effort save a live baby. The doctor doesn't need an additional hoop to jump through. But, this creates another way to harass abortion doctors and order to appease the religious right. It's sad and ignorant. It will also drive women seeking abortions to back alleys and home remedies as it was before Roe VS Wade. Many women will die.
