And [We cursed them] for their disbelief and their saying against Mary a great slander,
And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah ." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.
Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.
And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in Jesus before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a witness.

annual cost of gun violence in America exceeds $229 billion. Direct costs account for $8.6 billion—including long-term prison costs for people who commit assault and homicide using guns, which at $5.2 billion a year is the largest direct expense. Even before accounting for the more intangible costs of the violence, in other words, the average cost to taxpayers for a single gun homicide in America is nearly $400,000. And we pay for 32 of them every single day.

Every time a bullet hits somebody, expenses can include emergency services, police investigations, and long-term medical and mental-health care, as well as court and prison costs. About 87 percent of these costs fall on taxpayers. The second category consists of indirect costs: Factors here include lost income, losses to employers, and impact on quality of life, which Miller bases on amounts that juries award for pain and suffering to victims of wrongful injury and death.

Me: Oh, Please! $25 is nothing, I would be glad to pay it for my gun(s).
.
Article: "...an annual $25 fee directed to a nonprofit set up to distribute funds to gun crime prevention and to victims of gun violence. The measure also would require gun owners to obtain liability insurance that would cover damage caused by their weapon."
.
Article: "Lower premiums for those with gun safes, trigger locks and completed gun safety classes are expected to incentivize safer behavior."

Me: Gun safety classes should be required for everyone as well as gun safes, trigger locks, etc...
.
Article: One speaker told the council during the public comment session, "You cannot tax a Constitutional right".
.
Me: Yes, you have the right to bear arms, but you paid sales taxes on the weapons and ammunition. The Constitution grants the government the right to levy a tax, and this has been upheld by both Phillips v. Commissioner and Brushaber v. Union Pac RR.
.
Article: "Certainly the Second Amendment protects every citizen's right to own a gun. It does not require taxpayers to subsidize that right," Mayor Liccardo said Monday at a news conference.

Few points….Stewart County Tennessee has THE largest per capita gun ownership in the US. In 2020 (most recent data), they had…wait for it…ZERO murders. So tell me again that the weapon is to blame.
Now…charging a fee/insurance for gun ownership? Gonna get struck down. Why?, because you are charging a fee to exercise a right. That’s why the poll tax was eliminated.
Lastly….you wanna charge money to fund safety related issues? How about a monthly fee (however much that is), charged against the pay of convicted criminals. They pay it until the statute of limitations of their crime runs out.

So how does this stop criminals? See if a law abiding citizen forgot to renew their annual fee now they have a illegal gun. now are we going to have to pay for our other rights? Because gun restrictions like this only hurt law abiding citizens who live in the neighborhoods where gun insurance and a annual fee may not be much to most of us but in a crime ridden side of town or the poor side of town you only get to protect yourself or have the right to defend yourself if you can afford it! Remember the cops stood down as cities burned and you don't need a gun

Wow. I am sure all the illegal guns in the hands of criminals will be immediately signed up for insurance and pay their fees ( because everyone knows a criminal always follows the law )

As for shootings from legal bought firearms, done exclusively by crazy people will also immediately signed up for the insurance ( because everyone know that a homicidal maniac cares whether they might be charged with fines after they get done slaughtering people)

At the end of the day, this is just one more piece of legislation aimed at making it harder for law abiding citizens to own guns, with the ultimate goal being that ONLY the government will have control over firearms.

Since this is a CNN crowd, let me ask you this, would YOU be comfortable with Donald Trump being the ONLY person with control over people with firearms? Didn’t think so.
