Philipp Herzig since I LOVE educating clueless Europeans trying to infringe on the Rights of my fellow citizens, I've already posted this but I'll just leave this here aswell.

Some facts per the Dept of Justice, FBI, ATF and NTSA, DoT.

Fact: there are thousands more (30% more) deaths due to vehicles every year in the US. But why is it despite cars killing more, people tend to blame the poor decisions of the idiot behind the wheel instead of the car itself??

But back to firearms. Over 500 million legally aquired firearms in possession of law abiding gun owners. Of them less than 1% will ever be used in a crime rather it be a handgun, AR, whatever. Also fact: 99% of firearm crime in the US is by an illegally aquired firearm in the hands of a person not legally allowed to carry in the first place, often gang related, by which NO law introduced could ever prevent.

99% of people in the US will live their entire lives and not even be close enough to hear a legally processed firearm commit a crime.

Then unlike UK, Australia, etc with not even 1/4 of our population size nor do they happen to share a mostly unsecured border with the largest gun running country in the world, Mexico. And trust me cartels and familias dont care who they sell what gun to long as it makes them a peso.

What's the next argument Europe?? Europe actually enforces its immigration and border policies but everytime someone tries that here they're called a racist. Nazi. Etc. So the way I see this,

1) should probably worry about vehicles long before legally owned firearms in the US

2) we dont blame the car for the poor choices of the driver, so why blame the gun instead of the person pulling the trigger when both a car and gun are completely safe until negative human input makes them deadly.

3) geographically speaking and laws, what works with some commonly compared to island nations in the world, or Europe, will NEVER work in the US instead the opposite. Only criminals will have firearms, and our police are already stretched thin. So who's going to protect you?? Especially when more than half of you are the same crowd that dont trust/ dislike the police in the first place??

Criminals already out number the police by an unimaginable margin. Cant imagine a society here where only criminals have access to arms, police can't control the streets, meanwhile the honest family is just caught in the middle. I dont want my streets looking like Mexico, Honduras, or Brazil. Sorry.

Ang Harris oh look ! Someone judging the Ghettos. Ghettos are all races and it’s a culture lady. You’re assuming all gangs are black. And all mass shooters are white. That’s insulting.

They can be any color. The Ghettos from 80s forward is not the old ghetto. Every race now has been living in the ghetto. Which is the mall where we get our most shootings. I go to it.

We got a crime problem and mental health problem and it’s every race. And domestic terrorism look them up. Almost all white or black. Colorado has the worst history for mass shootings. You don’t have to remind me.

But if you don’t think malls has shootings regularly then you do not keep up with local news. BTW my husband is Native American. We have every race in our family. So maybe take care of yourself and quit speaking for people. My husband and family can speak for themselves. They don’t need some white lady telling them how to feel. My kids are smart and can speak for themselves. Our family is sick of the crime. We are sick of the drugs.

So many silly gun grabbers in the comments, of course this is the liberal cesspool of CNN. You do realize that you could ban guns and not a single American would turn them in right? So what are you going to do? I am not letting some liberal tell me what i can or cannot own to protect myself and property and family from the scourge of mental crazies, criminals that the left loves to let run free and coddle, the little protest groups coming to our businesses trying to loot and burn them. Yeah, no thanks. There are about 400 million plus guns in circulation (that is known of, the true amount is far higher), so how do you gun grabbers expect to get the guns? You going to go door to door telling them they have to turn them over?? You going to ask nicely? There is no logistical way to even go about it. (Not to mention all the Constitutional issues)....America doesn't even have to man power to fix its roads and bridges, and you guys honestly think you go get the guns??? Lmao Such

Wilmer Ong I never said you couldn't own a gun. When you have a medical emergency is the doctor there on time. Name calling is funny because I could just as well called you ignorant but I didn't from the get go. No body can be everywhere at one time, but I guess you could be,lol. You'll never know if I'm a good shot or not. Don't care if you would trust your life in my hands. You assume alot and maybe that's your problem. Stop insulting people and maybe you could have an intelligent conversation, maybe that comes from being young but I don't know your age. Be blessed and responsible and maybe a little more respectful. Oh and by the way I have always had peace of mind.

Jean Gallagher pretty simple math that even you can do without taking off your shoes....

According to the CDC

"Firearm homicides: Number of deaths: 19,384"

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/homicide.htm

Number of gun owners in the US:

"more than 81.4 million Americans own guns"

https://americangunfacts.com/gun-ownership-statistics/

Of course that number varies all the way to 100 million+ but we'll stick with 81.4 for now

Multiply your 19384 x 50 to get 969,200

Divide that by our 81.4 million number... .0119

Like I said, you'd have to kick those homicide numbers up 50 times just to get to 1% of gun owners. If you believe there are more gun owners than the 81.4 number, you may have to multiple it by 100 or even more.

Jane King I guess you don’t understand what that saying means. It’s the fact that an armed citizen would have the ability to stop a mass shooter who is walking around a public place shooting random people in an attack. Have you ever wondered why most mass shootings happen in gun free zones? Anyone with common sense would understand the logic of an armed citizen being able to stop the carnage. Our worst mass shootings could’ve ended much sooner if someone there was armed. However, by definition, this was NOT a mass shooting, and no one thinks they can step in and stop gang bangers and street criminals from shooting at each other during a fight/argument. These things happen in a matter of seconds then they all flee the scene.

Look, more armed citizens is not THE answer, but it is the most logical and effective answer that either side can come up with. People's jobs are to protect themsleves. The police's job is to uphold the law and under no requirement to "protect".

Gun bans and restrictions do not work. These gun laws on "ghost guns" right now are so beyond rediculous. Did you know a gun with the serial filed off is a "ghost gun"?

Stop BSing us. Anti-gunners want guns banned. Wont happen. They want more laws to control shooting. Doesnt help. What is helping is people taking their own responsibilities for their own safety.

I mean we are a country that literally sells weapons to tear down other nations and now the same weapons we sell that we have over 50% of our killing all of us and y’all are claiming they’re all criminals explain that to the people sitting in movie theaters were white people like to just go and shoot up Jobs daycare etc. every single day with legally bought firearms lol But then you call that mental illness so we’re gonna call the Subway guy mental illness even though he’s a far right extremist but I know that’s why no one wants to talk about it because he is with YALL PARTY and it wouldn’t fit your agenda either

Jean Gallagher - The original intent and purpose of the Second Amendment was to preserve and guarantee, not grant, the pre-existing right of individuals to keep and bear arms. Although the amendment emphasizes the need for a militia, membership in any militia, let alone a well-regulated one, was not intended to serve as a prerequisite for exercising the right to keep arms.

The Second Amendment preserves and guarantees an individual right for a collective purpose. That does not transform the right into a "collective right." The militia clause was a declaration of purpose, and preserving the people's right to keep and bear arms was the method the framers chose to, in-part, ensure the continuation of a well-regulated militia.

I understand your comment. And I’m not disagreeing with you. I’m not being argumentative nor am in any way being confrontational or any such thing. But can you please explain to me how the states that so have the highest amounts of gun laws also seem to have the highest amount of gun violence? Example, pretty much any big city.

But let’s think about Chicago. Please, explain to me how tight gun laws stop gun violence. Please explain why this anomaly in the data exist? I’m honestly not the smartest guy in the room so I’d love a rational explanation. 2+2≠ 4 and I just want to know why.
