James Moorcroft ok genius, what law will stop criminals from obtaining a gun if they want to? Currently as a law abiding citizen, I have to go through a federal background check and wait sometimes weeks to pick up my legally purchased firearm. On the same note, a criminal only needs to find someone to sell them a gun under the table to obtain said weapon. What more can an individual like myself do to prevent others from getting guns ILLEGALLY? Myself and others like myself keep our guns locked up and know exactly what I own and where it is at all times.

“The majority of firearms used in criminal activity are obtained illegally,” said David Chianese, a correspondent at Law Enforcement Today, published author and former NYPD detective. “Stricter or additional gun laws do not reduce gun violence.”

A 2019 survey conducted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) found that some 43 percent of criminals had bought their firearms on the black market, 6 percent acquired them via theft, and 10 percent made a retail purchase – 0.8 percent purchased a weapon from a gun show.

In 11 percent of cases, the criminal had someone else buy a gun for them – known as a straw purchase – while an additional 15 percent got guns from a friend or relative. Some 12 percent of weapons found on a crime scene had been brought there by someone else.

Marilena Parenteau because it’s becoming so much harder for good people to comply with the law and obtain a license to carry along with the preferred method of protection on top of that. Gun laws have increasingly made it harder for law abiding citizens to continue doing the right thing, law by law at a time. We’ve been placed into this category. It’s upwards of $100k in legal fees if you defend someone else’s life from a violent crime in most states. People weigh and balance the risk versus saving someone else’s life nowadays and that’s why you don’t see it happening.

Something very serious is going on in the USA and I’m inclined to say that it comes from the top of their ruling political class that it’s an absolute failure and has a great deal of corruption.
Social peace was more or less kept through low prices of energy and many years back decent standards of life, this is not like that anymore; people are getting poorer and poorer and the tension is increasing in the streets day by day.
Instead of making speeches about “leading the world” which are false and shallow they should be more concerned to try if not to lead their own society or what is left of it at least to know what is going on in front of their own eyes. But perhaps, it is simply that they don’t care

Good comment you could move the taxes there's usually somebody good with the gun. It's not the gun of course it's the people how things have gone in the last 40 to 50 years. A lot of this can be blamed on the feminist movement. Believe it or not The Hand That Rocks the Cradle rules the world when we started losing out mother's at the house being in charge of the house and the children are children started being raised in daycares then off to school. In some situations both parents working 40 hours a week they are helping each other out at the house children are in front of the television playing video games or on the Internet. They are getting very little family time.

Victor Despradel so a private gun owner who pulls a gun on or shoots a potential criminal (or at one ) that's about to make someone their victim is not reported or investigated? ..who knew.. because it should be. The public needs to know this. that potential criminal will otherwise eventually commit one. Or is just owning one an invisible forcefield or iron dome that mystically repels crime? Is that why most gun owners ( including us) have and probably will never actually need to use it ( or even threaten to) as self defense? If so, I guess it's working. I may possibly be misunderstanding, but I have a feeling all incidents involving a drawn gun and known to police actually require reporting.

Just another day in the USA. All the guns, all the time, everywhere. The usual "there's nothing that can be done", "thoughts and prayers", "only criminals will have guns", "we can’t let the government take our guns", "now is not the time to discuss gun safety", etc. etc. etc. We are a nation soaked in guns and violence. How much bloodshed is enough? When is gun safety is going to happen?

15 years ago this day, 32 VT students were gunned down and murdered and another 17 wounded by a student with multiple legal-owned pistols. Despite having documented severe anger and depression mental issues, he was still able to legal obtain the firearms. 15 years later, and what has changed to make our student, children, and citizens safer?

Phillip Rose First, that is a different conversation. Secondly, if whole dept is corrupt, yeah-fire them and start over with better officers, plans and funding….that is what it means. You can look up Camden NJ example..before and after. Terrible tag line. If you are that dumb to think most people do not want police departments you are the exact idiot you sound like. And actually, dump trump 2020 budget included less monies for police ACROSS THE BOARDz Biden’s 2020 budget increased police funding. Dont take my word for it-look it up. But dont worry-I post it for you later when I have time.

Chris Reimer-Isaacson more than 2/3 of Richland County voted for Biden. Coincidence? Name the location of every other mass shooting that happened in the past two weeks. Republican strongholds, are they?

Nobody wants to *give* guns to anyone. If you think a convicted felon is too dangerous to be allowed to own a gun, don't release him from prison. Then, you can abolish the background check system because nobody living freely among us wouldn't pass a background check, right? Because a large number of these people who have been shooting groups of people have had troubled criminal pasts, and have been forbidden from owning firearms. But they either steal them, or they buy them illegally.

10ºUnmistakable PARALLELS OF TOTALITARIAN REGIMES:
US Left & SAUDI KING Left

ELON MUSK on:
1) The FAR Left DEMOCRAT STRATEGIST on his wish for increasing censorship of conservatives and maintaining left propoganda:
'For democracy to survive, we need more content moderation, not less'

EM to Saudi King WHY he would oppose Musk purchase of Twitter:
2) MUSK: “Interesting. Just TWO QUESTIONS, if I may. How much of Twitter does the Kingdom own, directly & indirectly? What are the Kingdom’s views on journalistic freedom of speech?”

As the New York Post noted, Saudi Arabia frequently surveils and arrests journalists, just like in USA.

ON DEMOCRACY & PRESS FREEDOM? NOPE.
BOTH ARE TOTALITARIAN.
