1ºRuss Tavenner W.V did vote for Trump at 68% so it’s very conservative. But Manchin is a very moderate Democrat there also so 30-40% of W.Virginia they are democrats. So I think he finds the balance why he get re-elected time after time. Again he sides with democrats 99% on all votes. So wouldn’t you rather keep him then throwing him away just to have 2 Republican senators from W.Virginia? I think democrats really need to watch what the wish for. All I am saying. I am also a former democrat and independent slightly leaning right. 400 million Americans we all don’t fit in a red or blue box.

My point is if I vote for a Democrat, i expect them to fight for the Democratic values and the party platform. It shouldn't be a surprise when they cast their votes on particular legislation. Clean energy and fighting climate change is part of the Democratic platform. A woman's right to choose is part of the Democratic platform. All Democrats should support it. That is why I voted for them. Not because they are successful at business. Not because they are a good speaker. Not because they are young and full of energy. Not because they are a celebrity. But because they believe like I do. Otherwise we would just have a bunch of folks running with no political affiliation.
