President Johnson was a devout racist who was a regular user of the N word and did a lot of demeaning of black people. You should watch the movie Selma. Great movie. Fairly close to historical accuracy. The one thing is, the movie did not Highlight the party of the people opposing equality, but if you do the research yourself, you will find that they were all Democrats. Johnson had to get support from the Republicans.
