If a judge has performed a gay wedding ceremony, how do you expect that judge to have an impartial ruling on the marriage debate?
The court has made grave errors when. It comes to changing laws.
Dred Scott. The court affirmed black people were property. That one was overturned.
Roe v Wade. The court took the abortion issue away from states and federalized it with no constitutional basis whatsoever. This has been overturned.
Obergefell. The court once again took a states rights issue away from states and federalized marriage, with absolutely no constitutional basis regarding marriage. It should be undone.
Back when Obergefell happened, I told everybody if they want this ruling, they should have brought it up in Congress. If abortion had previously been passed by Congress, I don't believe the supreme court would have had a leg to stand on in overturning federalized abortion.
But since unjust judges think it's their chance to legislate from the bench, it can also be overturned by the same bench.
I will say this too. If gay marriage activists wanted it so much, they should have brought it before Congress. That way it's not bastardized.
You can laugh at my comment if you wish. But any constitutionalist would admit, whether conservative or liberal, that I am right about it.

This is a hot button issue for many, will repeal drive one side of the issue to the polls more than other---I think so. Is it the only issue? Obviously not, but in close races, it will make a difference. An aside: rough figures--40% of the public vote GOP no matter what, ditto 40% Democrats. The remaining 20% who call themselves independent or undecided do not fixate on political news---they by and large "feel" one way of the other early on (usually in May) and baring shocking developments, they stick with their feelings and if they are motivated enough to go the polls, they vote. That's why Mitch is so pissed off. He wanted to keep the border and inflation front stage in May, but somebody violated the privacy rights of the privacy rights violators on the Supreme Court and here we are. Incidentally, the only group of folks who will "lose" access to termination are the mentally challenged. The remainder of women will take a pill or travel to a state with an open clinic.

That SCOTUS decision looks very totalitarian! This isn't the first time shame has visited SCOTUS. The Dredd Scott Decision of 1856 tells us about a slave who petitioned the Court for his freedom. He was told he had no more rights than an animal that could be bought and sold. Years later in 1886 , a law clerk and a justice accepted bribes. More certainly, Justice Rehnquist stopped the counting of ballots to give the presidency to "W". The "SCOTUS leaker" is just another episode that tells us Lady Liberty cannot see justice because she has a blindfold covering her eye sockets where her eyes used to be.

Yesterday May 4, 2022 the President of the United States condemned over 74 million US citizens, with his normal divisive rhetoric. The president stated “this MAGA crowd” (as he calls Republican voters) “are the most extreme Political organization that has existed”. 9ºJohn Clifton you are basically saying that is the only way to force people to believe what you want and do things the way you want them done, like your take is the right one. What keeps you and others who would take that route from being exactly what you would be fighting against? Also, because people have a different idea, way of interpreting and doing things, are not satisfied with some things, they should leave the country? That makes no sense. Do you leave your spouse because you disagree on some things? Do you leave your job every time you disagree with something or they dont adopt your way of doing things? 10ºSydney Koss a great number of women ARE using abortion as Birth control. They BRAG about getting abortions, they have a whole website called "shout your abortion". I was pregnant with my second child when my first was 17 months old and that was planned. Same with two of my sisters. People PLAN to have a toddler and infant. That is called family planning. They are now 21 and 19. I have had lots of surprises in my life and delt with them accordingly. Once again there are tons of birth control options for women, including abstinence which is 100% effective. I am not even going to address your disgusting comments about Kavanaugh because that shows your abhorrent character. Once again, abortion will still be allowed. Women will still be able to kill their babies, they will just have to do it in a more timely manner.
