Search for Alabama corrections officer and inmate enters 7th day as officials piece together why they disappeared

Over the last week, authorities have discovered the officer, 56, and inmate Casey White, 38, had a romantic relationship and that Vicky White visited him multiple times in her off-hours while he was in state prison.

Falling in love is natural. The heart never discriminates and it has no boundaries, thus they always say, "if it ain't crazy, it's not love." So there. But the means does not justify the ends for the female officer. We can just understand her personal feelings and her predicament to have been emotionally carried away that rob her sensibility - we just hope she is safe and still alive. It is a dubious set-up, the convict is said to have mental issues and the female officer is coincidentally in grace of having money from her service career, the circumstances could be odd for the female officer if the reality of his intent shall hit her. Thus, we hope as well that they should be tracked down. He can run but cannot hide forever - but what can happen to the female officer weighs more to consider for some serious pursuit to find her. Then apply what is due according to rule of law.

Karen BeautifulBrown McNeely yes and also I remember in my major studies in college that conferences and training drills do occur between local and state law enforcement agencies and even federal for better communications between the forces and recognization of other members you may have to work with, with the need for mutual aid, and in preparations for any extreme events like disasters or major crimes. There’s meetings that all Chiefs of Police have and etc. meetings, I forget how many times a year they meet. So it isn’t a stretch to suggest more conferences, somebody will recognize someone between these meetings. All it takes is one person or more to recognize or remember another officer from one of these such functions. Maybe correctional facilities don’t participate in these meetings but it would be a good idea to start something similar somewhere.

Im a former corrections officer, she is what we referred to as a "duck". There are trainings on this, but unfortunately many fall to the coersion and manipulation of these inmates. They "groom" the officers. They can sniff out a weak officer like a bloodhound. She had 20 yrs with the dept, but obviously she was at a weak moment in her life. He's a murderer, and obviously a master manipulator. He got her....and she ended up throwing her entire life away. This is so very sad on many levels. I see this from the public view and officer view. I have seen a couple officers go to jail for this very thing... getting involved with inmates.

Vina Battle so you're saying nothing is done, but two officers were fired. Your son may not have known about the other officer's relationship with inmates, but clearly it was found out and action was taken. Plus why are you complaining when the one you're son saw was fired as well? Obviously they found out and took care of it. Your outrage and claim that it's only "swept under the rug" has no basis. Some investigations take time, and they certainly aren't going to tell an inmate's mother what's going on in there. They shouldn't. I think you're just pissed that your son is in prison.

I used to be a corrections officer. There are boundaries. It is a JOB. Do you job and go home is what I always said to myself. Don't get personally involved. I just don't understand how in the world she would throw away her whole life away like that. It just makes no sense at all. Twenty five years, ready to retire, to run away with a murderer knowing they will be caught (because that is common sense) and that she will either wind up dead or spend the rest of her life in prison. I don't get it. She just totally lost it. And please don't tell me "she was in love." That is definitely not love. That is beyond insane. I hope she is okay. He used her to his advantage and hopefully did not kill her after she helped him escape.

Rue Gandiwa that’s what I’m wondering. I’m in Indiana but if you work for the DOC you cannot visit an inmate without writing asking special permission to their prisons warden and the warden has to approve it. I don’t think it’s likely that she used an alias but you have to submit your license and everything to be approved and they look into all of that. I may be wrong but I just think it would’ve been hard to come up with the proper legal identification she would need to use an alias. Also she was well known anyway so I think its likely people at the prison would recognize her. Maybe she claimed she was there seeing for the investigation? I don’t know, also I know each state has different laws and procedures for things, so maybe alabamas prison system isn’t like indianas

Just goes to show you how dirty our justice system really is!! Truth is coming out!! The old are dying off and the new who have been getting away with being a dirty cop are just starting to show!!

I know not every cop is dirty but it just goes to show you how out of line that entire station was.... I mean can you imagine being arrested by one of the officers in that unit?

"If you want the job done right you do it yourself"

I don't even call the police for emergencys because someone ends up in jail. That's not justice. It's a political tactic for county's to get money! We are 1 of the 10 countries that jail over 85% of their own citizens! That fact alone is scary!

Diego Garces this is what's going on in prison, smh. It's nothing new and they probably already knew but just wanted to sweep it under they rug, and now that this happen and their gone they wanna bring it out to light. My son is in prison and he saw a deputy kiss an inmate and brought it to the attention of the supervisor because she had him put in a box to try to cover up what he saw and at the end of the day he never got a Dr for it he was just sitting there because she was afraid, and when I called up there to get to the bottom of it I was told that oh that female has been fired and I was like she couldn't have been fired long story short the one that was fired was not the one, which both of them was intimate with the inmates and now they have fired her

He put that whoop on her. He's obviously a manipulator and played on her low self esteem and need for attention. He will use her as long as she's useful and because he's a murderer he might kill her but then no one can say that shouldn't surprise her or anyone else. Also, when she claimed he had an appt someone in admin should have verified that before letting her take off with him and by herself and he's not really even restrained with no leg shackles and only handcuffs at the front of his body. That right there should have raised suspicions.

10ºShe has all her guns which he now has use of.
She has ruined both her life and career for what? Some one who will probably kill her once he is done using her. They both will end up dead. He will get caught backed into a corner and cowardly commit suicide. How sad for her family
What a waste of almost 20 years invested. I heard she was good at her job. Such a shame. He manipulated her. She must have been an easy target for some reason to him. I don't think we will ever know as this won't end well
