4ºShane Turnes Their strategic placement isen't what is ones was . But they have a huge army . And they produce some military equipment that have value . But personly I feel that democratic value and practice . Should be rule Nr 1 .
Turkey was a democratic nation . But Erdogan have change that a lot . But Turkey isen't the only nation where this is an issue .
Hungary & Poland have some issues .
Hungary when it comes to a free press . And justice .
In Poland it is the justice . I think the US should adress that .

I do understand that Turkey was importent out of an strategic point of view . This days that isen't what it used to be . So I wonder if Turkey would live NATO . If they have to choose to be a part of NATO with Suomi Finland & Sweden . Or if they rather leave than give room for those two nations ?
Turkey claim to be a loyal member of NATO . But they're not more loyal . Than to trade weapon system out of Russia . And for a Norweagen . Sweden & Suomi Finland is very importent . Norway already have a defence deal with those two nations . But knowing that they also was NATO members . Would feel very reassuring . A membership for those two would also be very good News for our defence inustry .
So even if I appreciate Turkey . And their military capability . They got now right to VETO nations who is free and democratic . And is placed at a location . That is well as strategic as that of Turkey .
Personally I see no reason why Ukraine can't become a member . If Ukraine want to join NATO and the European Union . Russia will have to learn to live with it . Because even if Russia is forced out this time . Russia could try again latter on . If Ukraine is a part of NATO . That would never happend !
