Long covid refers to ongoing or new health problems that occur at least four weeks after a covid infection, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

This is a relatively new virus. We’ve learned a lot but there is still much we don’t know. The best way to insure surviving the virus is to not contract it in the first place. To that end I plan on following the latest medical recommendation we have at the moment, acknowledging things may change as we learn. I received my 2 vaccines and 2 boosters. I still wear a mask in public and try to social distance whenever possible. I no longer shake hands and never will again. I always thought that was a ridiculous custom not to mention unsanitary. I carry and use hand sanitizer. I may still get COVID. But hopefully the symptoms will be less severe and I will survive with few if any after effects. To me this is about science not politics as some would have it.

Rick Anthony don't go to doctors? What a juvenile response. Just like anything else you get 2nd even 3rd options and make a informed decision. Injecting my kids with a experimental gene therapy for a hoax about bat soup propaganda from corporations that have total liability protection if anyone dies is just a genius move by you sheep. Keep listening to those experts . So effective you still contract and transmit CovAids. And jab takers are still dying from the Kung flu? Keep taking those jabs and wearing two submission masks because the experts say it's common sense.

Diane Dahlhouser Wisman No one is making this up. Remember when Trump said this was a political hoax and not real? Then he said CoVid wasn’t serious and no one knew anyone who had it then Trump got it. The he said don’t get the vaccine and no one got the vaccine and CoVid spread like crazy? Get the picture? Look, No one should let politics get in the way of medicine and science.
Good thing the last two variants were weak but it can always get worse. Be safe and make comments sense decisions. I don’t know you, but I’d love for you to live a long time.

Michelle Hannon Kendall I can understand your pain.. I have lost 2 family members during this forced isolation process, one to COVID and one to Cancer. This virus has taken more from me than I care to admit…

What I do know, is that the tolls it is taking in the schoolchildren and on mental health of kids and adults far outweigh the next wave of COVID.

COVID is a forever virus, just like the flu, it will come back every year and still make the pharmaceutical companies billions in the process.

This is market manipulation at its finest. I hope you and yours stay safe, but I beg of you to look outside the COVID box and see what else this BS has caused.

Hug your kids and grandkids, smile at them…. Because for almost three years they forgot what physical reinforcement was (social distancing) and most of all they forgot what happy people looked like… Their smiles were covered by a piece of cloth that has been proven to be a waste of time other than the N95.

Michelle Butterfield, Sorry you’re dealing with the effects of Covid. Fortunately, I haven’t had to deal with any of that personally, but in my field of study/work there has been research done on this very issue.
Sadly, there is new research found in The American Journal of Audiology (2020), which proves the coronavirus is damaging the fine hairs located in the inner cochlea of the ear. These microscopic hairs are responsible for our hearing. The research found that a huge percentage of patient’s with COVID-19 sustained hearing loss due to the virus. Furthermore, and even scarier, is that individuals with no symptoms, but who are carriers of the virus, are also sustaining damage to the cochlea. Hence, you could be exposing yourself, your family, and the general public to possible permanent hearing loss.

Elizabeth Barajas I am so glad you explained that to me...I did not comprehend that at all......What I am saying though is....as someone who has lived with this for almost 16 months....the doctors are like this with everyone. They don't catch it in children, cause some try not to.They have a hard time period when it comes to long covid. Especially when they can not find a fix for the symptoms. You get sorry let us know if things change. Some doctors completely ignore the fact you have long covid and assume your lifestyle is to blame. In the beginning they said it was the elderly who would be most impacted....now they say they are having difficulties spotting long term effects in them.....the key is listening. The medical field is overwhelmed by this and that is the main issue.

Chris Jones My neighbor is a Covid-19 long hauler. Took my sister weeks to fully recover from Covid-19. Your so arrogant you don't care enough to ask the people around how there truly feeling. Covid-19 not a flu or cold it has a different kick I have ever felt before. If you had Covid-19 you would not be making that comment even if you were the very few that didn't experience no Covid-19 symptoms or very little. Majority of us that had Covid-19 agree it's more then a cold or flu & don't want it ever again. Then the next group visited a hospital for weeks & lucky to survive Covid-19 & running to get themselves fully vaccinated & boostered. Over million+ in America have died from Covid-19 & if they were alive I'm sure they would be saying get vaccinated because something as simple as getting vaccinated can save your life. Personally I dont care if you don't get vaccinated because Covid-19 will come & less voters to vote for common sense from listening to others especially professionals like Doctors, medical communities & Scientists.
