Gayle Mitchell again, I never put guns over children. That is an attempt to take moral high ground because you have no evidence to back your claims.

You say you didn't run around with weapons of war as a kid... but they did exist... and back then, assault weapons were legal to own. What changed? It wasn't laws being less restrictive. Laws are far more strict now than they were. The nuclear family is under attack, parents are no longer allowed to discipline their children, schools/parents are pushing kids to define an identity for themselves (gay/straight/trans), and not just sexual identity, they tell them they have to believe a certain set of beliefs... they have to either wholly accept or reject an ideology.... let parents be parents, let kids be kids. There is no reason to add the stress of anything other than learning and growing. Parents should be an example. Regardless of whether or not you and I agree on guns, doesn't mean I think you're a bad person, but many now would say that I put guns over children, rather than see that I won't give up my gun rights, because I have them to protect my children. I support security in schools, I also support open carry as a deterrent, and doing away with gun free zones. If the Whitehouse is a gun free zone, why so much armed security? Why don't our kids deserve the same protection?

Brian Richmond You see what they tell you to see. No one is punishing law abiding citizens. Stricter background checks is not a punishment to law-abiding citizens, they would pass them. Restricting mentally ill and extremist people's gun access to their home or property would still allow them the ability to defend themselves while not providing nearly as much danger to the rest of the public.

Why should we not utilize the policies that have solved this problem literally everywhere else in the world? It can't be specific to the other countries if we're the only first-world nation that has this problem

Kenneth Simons Lawmakers define terms when they draft bills to become law. They don't just throw out words and expect everyone to be on the same page about what the words mean. This is their job; this is what they are elected and paid to do. It does not matter what you think makes it different from your weapon or what I think. It matters what is written and passed into law. Republicans in the Senate refuse to hold a vote on HR 8 because they know its politically popular with voters yet unpopular with their backers in the NRA.

Jerry Hinton

A racist massacred innocent people while plowing into them at a Christmas parade in my state. Killing 6 including a little boy and injuring 62. If you aren’t one one those, then you won’t have any problem regulating who can own an SUV. Sounds smart, right? Cars aren’t even a right given to us in the Constitution. Doesn’t it sound asinine!? If not, you’re a hypocrite and I have nothing more to say!

We need to regulate who can purchase cars. No one should be able to buy one under the age of 35, they need to submit to mental evaluations yearly, red flag laws apply, background checks, can’t own more than one, can’t own one that has more than 2 doors. It’s for the children!

When these massacres have occurred in the past you think and feel at that time, this is the worst. At those times it is hoped that some action will occur to stop the insanity, but here we are yet again!

This interview and the compassion shown to this father by Anderson had us all crying. May they all have the strength to get through this. Prayers to all the family’s who lost their loved ones.

You wonder how so many are so cold and unaffected by yet another shooting. Many have brothers and sisters, children, nieces or nephews, grandchildren, god children, neighbors, peers, etc., and yet react by doing nothing! It shouldn’t have to be their own before they take action. We have to find a way to start thinking about human life. We need to stop those politicians who continue to ignore the lives of others, as they are busy lining their bank accounts.

Mel Issa and reporters poke at wounds until they bleed. This man needs to grieve, not have someone pretend to care and share his vulnerability with everyone in the world.

You all say you want a solution. The only solution you propose is political. You make it political when you say the government needs to do something. Why not look at how many school shootings there are, vs how many happen at gun shows. You want a solution? Proper firearmin firearminat a young age, and funding to mental health. We sent 40B dollars to Ukraine, that same 40B could have been used for security in every school in the country, to the tune of 400k/school.

I don't know what the answer to this problem is, but it does teach us that we cannot ignore it. There will always be people with mental problems and a means of committing the slaughter of our innocents. We must give and teach love at an early age and watch for signs of neglect. Obsessing over inanimate objects as a reason does not work or new laws has either. There is nothing that will replace what we have lost in life, and it will go on, making us even sadder. Help those who survive for they need it now the most.

When will the children be thought of and not an after thought? Why does it always take something so horrendous to happen for lawmakers to care. And the question is, do they care because this has happened TOO many times and no changes to school security measures have yet to be made. Camera's at doors, metal detectors before entering, and exit doors locked that can be locked from the inside office with camera's at ALL DOORS being monitored. If lawmakers can get bonus checks, salary raises & send billions to other countries to help them, then OUR tax money can be spent here to protect our kids.

Keith Seniuk There’s no nation on earth like the USA. No nation that has so many different races, cultures, etc… all mixed together within one border. Why does America have this problem now? Democrats!!! That’s why. They’ve fought against anything that promotes morals. They declared war on the traditional family, war on working and all the responsibilities of having a job and family. War on Christian faith. War against the police and And law and order all for political reasons, for political power. You asked why is it only America having this problem. Democrats, war on women and basic biology, war on children in public schools. Eliminate the Democratic Party and America will be ok.

10ºI love the USA and i hate it..Its not the gun that kills but the person using it .Mental health in the USA truely needs to be given more concern than present ..Teachers need to be given the training and tools (not guns) and learn to be aware of people with outside the norm attitudes. When such people are reported there should be immediate follow up on them and no way should anyone with mental health issues be allowed to own any gun or weapon period.By reporting such people one is not infringing their rights its done to help them and save lives..People need to adopt that way of thinking. for the General public good .My Heart goes out to all those that have lost their lives through these violent acts.RIP TO ALL.
