In her opening statement, House January 6 committee vice chair Liz Cheney said former President Donald Trump had a "seven-part plan" to overturn the election.

JohnMillie Genier The reason for these hearings is to present the evidence they have been assembling for quite some time. The film, the depositions and statements, the emails laying out a plan. You know, evidence. Our legal system is NOT designed to work at breakneck speed just to satisfy Americans who live in front of the tv box with a less than 30 second attention span.
Nor do grand juries give out hints and easter eggs to the public, it is a sealed proceeding and information is not released until it is reviewed by judges, all of which takes time.
It would be a massive asset to our country on all sides, if folks blue and red bothered to educate themselves about the very basic operations of how ANY of these things work before forming an uneducated opinion and then spewing it around.
THAT IS WHY WE ARE IN THIS.

Alan Williams part of the never ending circus of propaganda and the exact same reason Trump will walk.. both parties play like hate each other, when in reality it's just a ploy for them to maintain power by controlling group dynamics and expanding hate between in group and outgroups of the citizens.. to the point of having both groups to busy arguing with each other to realize they've been manipulated into those positions by appeal to authority and hopping on the bandwagon... If you can control 2 different competing narratives and get masses to follow one or the other you create a world where you know what all the conversations will be and resulting behaviors.. you can get people so mesmerized into keeping their in group status that truth, ability to critically think, ability of discernment all no longer exist.. it gets exchanged with what my group believes is always the Truth... These politicians are all in an ingroup that's part of an elite ruling class or puppets whose strings are held by the elite ruling class it's very apparent they will do anything to stay in this group.. voting for the left or right hand when it's attached to the same body does nothing to benefit the majority.. while they create the chaos, they benefit, while the rest of us suffers and these psychopaths get off at observing the demise..

Robert James the one that is telling us Putin is bad while it has killed 3 million Muslims. The one that told us there wouldn’t be inflation after printing trillions of dollars. The one that gave hundreds of billions of taxpayer money to a corporation and then turned around and forced taxpayers to consume that corporations product even though it didn’t work. The one that is telling you “the system is racist” while it tricks you into giving the system more power.

Liz Cheney is no different than Joe Biden. Barack Obama was no different than George Bush. It’s a private club and we ain’t in it.

Jeff Evans I'm 54, so just a few behind you.

Unfortunately for your narrative, I don't ascribe most of the problems in the economy to Biden. I don't give Trump credit for the boom as most of it was set up in the prior administration. Economies do not turn on dimes, and it takes 2-3 years for items to percolate thru. The 2017 tax cuts for billionaires hurt the revenue side bad for the government and hurt the average American much more.

The pandemic crippled supply chains and demand has overwhelmed supply, thus inflation. The FED did a horrible job misunderstanding what was going on last year. Dumping too much money in the economy, Trump more than Biden, even if it was needed at the time was overall bad.

There is just a lot going on here, but the biggest thing is is we have record inflation.

You give Presidents, ANY President, way too much power. Inflation and gas prices are running hot worldwide. Its a bigger thing than just America.

While oil companies and others reporting record profits.

Hmmm, corporate greed anyone?

Rae Smith not at all. Just like FBI (you know, the FBI the dems control) nothing tied to TRUMP. The partisan committee spins it all. I am watching open minded, but nothing is there.
No, they are showing THEIR interpretation. I am and will watch every second of this. I am not a Trumpster, although I think he was great in office. He had not one day of peace with the left so scared of his outing all their lies and plans. Trump did not create the lead up to J6. I believe the illegal entry of Capitol is being dealt with without this partisan committee.

One last trip through the gas price time machine:
from 2020
"“I never thought I’d be saying that maybe we have to have an oil price increase, because we do. The price is so low,” Trump said in a Fox News interview. The president, who had made a political career bashing OPEC and advocating for low gasoline prices, was worried the U.S. industry would be “wiped out”.

Trump spoke to both Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, commonly known as MBS, proposing a global deal to cut production. He couldn’t help boasting about the talks before the deal was in place, announcing in a tweet on April 2 that he hoped Riyadh and Moscow would "cut output by 10 million barrels a day, if not more."

And that production never increased to pre pandemic levels as demand returned and exceded prepandemic levels.

"Brent crude jumped more than 45% in just a few seconds, crushing many bearish investors.”
"There has been a tectonic shift in global oil politics. Putin, MBS and Trump, the leaders of the the world’s three largest producers, are dictating global petroleum supply. AND AMERICA NOW ACCEPTS THAT LOW PRICES ARE NOT IN IT'S INTEREST (emphasis is mine)

Trump, who has been a critic of OPEC for years, is the one who put it together,” said Daniel Yergin, the oil historian. “Of all the deals he’s done in his life, this has to be the biggest.”

Oil executives, Putin, and OPEC are all grateful for Trump today

And the next time you hear a Trump nut like Max blame Biden for gas prices, remember who cut global oil production for over 2 years
Trump hopes we all have short memories like Max, and unfortunately he is probably right

You can't credit Trump and sing his praises for what he did then, and not hold him responsible for the longterm consequences of high gas prices today.

Nora Macintyre I am realistic in my thinking in that things were not great or perfect under Trump and there is and was work to be done. I do not think that Trump was "utterly incompetent". I think Trump was initially elected because he is not and was not a "politician". He is and was a business man! And like I said in my original comment, I do not like how Trump acted at times... and I didn't agree with everything he did. At that time, . (in my opinion) the country was tired of the same old same old politics. I also think there was enough people that were so against Hillary Clinton that Trump was the best "worst" option. Whether you agree with him or not, again, in my opinion, things were better under Trump's presidency than we are now. YES a lot of the problems we have now are the result of the pandemic and many of those problems would still be here if Trump was president. And YES, I also realize that throughout the globe there are problems and suffering. But I still hold to my opinion that we were better off under Trump. I also don't agree with Biden's energy, foreign, and immigration policies in particular and with those policies in place our country is worse off.

Paul Jenney I am 59 in Sept. Yes I saw some of it. It was on everyday in the afternoon lol. He resigned prime time. I guess 5 years of trying to hang this man hasn't happened get over it. Give me that economy back too. This idiot administration running Biden has ran every American into deep problems and they claim to have a booming economy. I guess your idea and my idea of booming are polarized. You would think Trump would be drawn and quartered by now. They have tried since before day 1 in office what's the problem? You all a bunch of sheep walking right off a cliff!

I saw it. She presented no evidence Trump directly said Pence deserves to be hung. She presented no evidence of that. Furthermore, she said Trump knew he lost. She is going by senior officials telling him. The problem is that doesn't mean he knew. First, he would have to accept it. Plus the senior officials produced no evidence there was no fraud.

See this is spin. This isn't facts. As Democrats admitted this is to save Democrats when it comes to keeping Congress. Cheney has vowed to help because a report said Democrats will crossover in the primary so she stays the Republican nominee

10ºRobert James Not that it's not true but being manipulated. I will give you an example since you ask. When Liz Cheney was playing us Trump's speech at the Capitol, she left out whole sentences that mischaracterized Trump's statements. Adding one sentence to an end of a comment changes the whole meaning of that sentence. That's where the sleight of hand is coming in so to call it the truth is hilarious. If you can't recognize or honestly discuss the facts then you're just a waste of time to me and a talking point mouthpiece. So go on your Merry way and have a nice life,.
