Now some places like restaurants had vaccine restrictions imposed on them by local health units for indoor dinning..many had outdoor patios, some managed to keep them open most of the winter in some places.
Movie theaters as long as they were open required a bax certificate..
Hockey rinks as well.. additionally all participants ( ie hockey players, coaches, ye staff ) had show one as well.
You could get exemptions based on religious, medical reasons... surprisingly there few of those .
There were no restrictions on travel, unless you were flying, going by train or bus .you needed proof of vaccination..
We travelled all over the place on day trips.. usually within an hour to 3 hours away..
As of now ,no proof is required to fly etc..
Everything is open and at full capacity.

Culturally we watch the same TV shows, listen to the same music..watch the same movies
Even in pro sports we share the same interests in teams on both sides of the border.
Usually the only time people all over the US hear about Canada is because one of Prime Ministers has screwed up ..

The cause of Russia, China and the western world could never have killed more powerless people miserably. Politics is a noble philosophy, and politicians should carry out their mission with awareness as philosophers.
