I'm an original intent Constitutionalist for the return of limited federalism through the counter-revolutionary re-establishment of lawful states, liberty of de jure state choice, personal responsibility, and natural consequence. Our jurisprudential role model is America, prior to the 1860s and the 14th Amendment, then voluntarily and non-coercively evolved to modern times through self-government via unabridged state rights.

I'm for free markets. And I'm for liberty, natural consequence, and personal responsibility. I have to be consistent with that philosophy. This is how we arrive at "less government". If discrimination is undesirable, we allow the marketplace to destroy the business. Also, if there are no laws against discrimination, on what standing would lawsuits be initiated?

If you don't think our countries are intertwined, I need to tell you.....Prime Minister Trudeau used the recent Texas School Shooting to put forward legislation to prevent the sale of handguns from henceforth and onward. This is a Canada wide ban of the sale of handguns. I think this non-sense alone, allows me the right to make a couple of comments about the non-sense south of us, which contributes to the non-sense in the north. Maybe our Dictator and Chief, is having some effect on citizens in your country? It seems the truck convoy and the enactment of the emergencies act, complete with the seizure of bank accounts, resonated even with sleepy Canadians? Are you too, talking about freedom from tyranny?

4ºJohn VanWyden, it was also my assumption that your question was based after my original scenario within which (in your words) "The criteria for refusing to serve an individual would be left up to the business owner." In that particular instance, I'm not arguing that people and attorneys wouldn't like or wish to file lawsuits for discrimination, I'm just wondering how that would happen *if* the hypothetical were actually true -- ie. IF it were, in fact, "left up to the business owner", meaning there were no laws on discrimination. I assume it could only be left to the business owner legally if those laws didn't exist, correct? Whether you agree with that philosophy or not, my question came along with the scenario in mind. Perhaps you're just saying that the general sue-happy attitude of our society would eventually result in such laws being resurrected regardless?
5ºJoe Lee Mon - I love the "no charges of insurrection" - and a while back it was 'but there are no charges of sedition'. That one got dropped now that two different groups have been charged with sedition, and more charges keep getting filed. Tell the people who died or were injured that day about the "non violence" you speak of, I'm sure those officers and their families would love to hear all about that.
Sorry bro, this is not about "my side" vs yours, this is about the American people and our democracy and protecting it from those who would seize power when they cannot win power legitimately.
6ºVictor J Sobrado I read most of it & have printed it to read it all later Thank you for sharing this with me. I will read it all and plan to friend you so we can continue the conversation. I was aware that some of the individuals from Puerto Rico that participated in the event at the Capitol were Macheteros. My question is, since I am basing my argument on the fact that what I saw on line was that they got between 25 & 75 years JUST for the crime of illegal entry at the Capitol. Or were those sentences for other charges that they committed in Puerto Rico? Not a Boriqua myself but personally I think Puerto Rico should have representation in the Senate & Congress as should the District of Columbia. These maleantes were right about one thing there should be equal representation. But violence is never the proper answer.
7ºJohn VanWyden, obviously lawyers do more than just discrimination cases. We're only about 60 years into the '64 Civil Rights Act and it wouldn't exist if not for the 14th Amendment. We're a litigious society, yes. I know that first hand; but I learned a big lesson -- that it's better for everyone if you can work things out without them. I know I'll likely never see that return to limited federalism either, but these principles are a basis for how I try to live, regardless. If we each work to reduce government use, we can shrink big government and increase personal independence and self-government.

It's funny when your links show images of the violence directed against Capitol Police Officers, them being pepper sprayed, trying to manually hold together a barricade that was being forced. Next time read your own links and then follow through. You posted three links about the same single story from a month after the attack - that some officers were being investigated for breaking policies. That's the normal thing to do when something goes terribly wrong, to look at what happened and learn how to improve your organization's actions. So what happened next? Were those allegations disproved or not? I'd say after five deaths and 850 criminal charges and counting, that the answer is that they were disproved.
