1ºWilliam Lawson - You still don't get it do you? The 1/6 Committee is NOT a body that brings charges, it is NOT a court. It IS a fact finding committee. If the DOJ wants to pursue charges to people based on those findings, i.e. if they find that laws were indeed broken (which they were), then those so charged will have due process. I mean let's face it, Eastman asked Trump for a pardon because of his part in the insurrection and pled the 5th over 100 times (literally) while being asked questions about that day and what lead up to it.
2ºKathy Roberts, The department of justice is scratching their head trying to find a crime. We know that because the committee focused on the very first day of Ivanka Trump and no matter how you try to frame this, there’s no crime and having a difference of opinion.
If the committee truly had something, they wouldn’t entertain soap opera drama because as stated before, There is no crime in Donald Trump thinking he won the 2020 election, any more than Joe Biden believes he is doing a great job for America
If you are honestly saying you believe there is no doubt Trump will be indicted, then just like since 2016, you will again be disappointed
3ºJacki Anker, they weren’t dismissed for any other reason other than it had not reached a prima facia case. However they were more than welcome to return to court once they obtained enough evidence to reach that threshold
I can tell you one thing where even you if you choose to could refute one aspect of the committee yourself. Liz Cheney said Donald Trump sat back and did nothing for three hours until he sent a tweet at 4:07 PM to go home. However you could use your search engine to look at the Twitter archives and see Trump sent two additional tweets, one at 2:38 PM and another one at 3:13 PM which were conveniently omitted by the January 6 commission
Now it seems to me if we can find evidence by ourselves which would refute one narrative by the committee, then what else could be refuted that’s not quite so easy to obtain the correct information?
4ºPete Mihalek Trump not only lost the election he and his diehards are still declaring he won, he lost 60+ court cases claiming he won (some presided over by judges he appointed), every audit and recount, numerous attempts to get state legislators to overturn state elections, and his plea to the Supreme Court to support his claims.
Despite promising his supporters that they’d “get tired of winning,” he’s found more ways to lose an election than anyone in history. He and those who still promote his lies are the ones who need to move on while the US moves to write laws that prevent any other would-be dictator from using his playbook to overthrow our democracy.
5ºStan Johnson, that means if it’s a fact finding committee that means facts are not limited to one point of view. They were so scared of a contrasting point of view coming out this committee which has never happened in the history of America did not allow the house minority leader to select his or her own parties politicians
You can frame it any which way you want but when you don’t allow the other side to speak then you don’t really want facts which is exactly what happens in communist countries like North Korea and China
Why are democrats scared of a counterpoint?
It’s a shame they’re putting this spectacle on for Americans to see and only about 10% Of them are giving it any moment of their time
6ºWilliam Lawson neither you nor I have seen what evidence is out there tying Trump et al to any one or more that participated and/or planned the attack on the Capitol. You seem to think only the riot/Capitol attack is being blamed on Trump et al. No, obstruction and/or conspiracy to commit obstruction is but one of a couple/few crimes bring considered and for which we ARE seeing evidence of. You don’t have to agree, but many DO!! For example despite being told numerous times that the alleged theory to reject the electoral votes was bs and not legal and his lawyers and others in his inner circle said so, he continued , even at the ellipse, to say that pence Could reject etc etc… this threw gasoline on a fire lit by Trump to his supporters at the riot who then saw Trumps tweet about Pence not having courage to do … and they then went looking to hang/kill him. You don’t have to believe or agree.
