Ami Harstad-Danielson ermmm actually isn't that exactly what Jesus said? That we are forgiven our sins. Which is why the prostitutes, robbers, sinners were all forgiven by him. So yeah you literally get to be forgiven. Also the very valid point she makes is that a 2000 year old ( almost) book written in a different social & political world cannot be a blueprint for life in the 21st Century and most modern theologians accept this. I obviously attend a progressive Christian church though my upbringing was Orthodox and I do see a difference. That said my relationship with God is between he & I and no one else gets to sit in judgment

Danni Brooks . This decision has violated their rights by imposing the political and religious beliefs by a group of conservative religious zealots from the right on all women.
That same group was formed back during the days of segregation by this time party to oppose it. Now they wave that same biased banner and do it in the name of God.
A blasphemy.
Nowhere in the Bible is abortion directly addressed.
Zealots choose verses to apply for support of their own beliefs , but it’s not in the Bible. . it is not directly address anywhere in the Bible. Anyone who reads the Bible will know that.
Jesus was a huge supporter of women. Jesus NEVER made any laws for anyone. His only request was for our faith and belief in him.
HIS father supplied the only laws in the Bible. :
The Ten Commandments.

It should be the Woman’s right to decide. God (in the Christian faith ) gave everyone “free will “ , to make their own decisions and choices in life.
Whether those choices be Right or wrong, They are theirs only to make.
Not any man or woman , not any clergy , not any government or organization should have the right to say otherwise.
No one Should have the right to judge or condemn them.
Only God has that right.

Mark Mark and if you believe in Jesus you would not be judging or condeming anyone because the only one that can do that is God. But then again, a lot of pro-life until a baby is born, gun loving, conservative Christians believe that God asked them to take his place.

If you weren’t born with a uterus, you don’t get a say. Now, you want to start talking about child molestors (including pastors and priests), rapists and the consequences they should be facing…or the teen boys and men that impregnate a woman and turns their back on them, let’s talk.

One thing that I fail to comprehend. That being that if you are religious, then why are you attempting to foist your beliefs upon everyone else? Another is, that our nation is NOT a Christian nation. Our laws are not constructed from the Christian Holy Book. Everyone on the conservative side, complained that the vaunted "Obamacare", the ACA, was going to have government interfering in our medical lives. So they vehemently opposed it. Yet now, the very same people are pushing government control between the woman and her doctor on a medical matter. Matter of fact is that they aren't through yet. They also want to tell others how to be a person of gender to which they were born that they do not have any right to be who they personally choose or who they really are in human sexuality. Considering that nearly 50% of these good Christian folks cannot keep their own marriages without being either abusive to the other or to keep their vows to each other, maybe they should spend more time reading that book of theirs and actually learning something!

"Making abortion illegal is going to disproportionately affect young women, women in poverty, women of color, in rural areas, women who don't have a support system that some people are privileged to have. These are the kind of people that Jesus was always advocating for in his life and ministry. I first and foremost am always going to side with a living, breathing, human woman and what's best for her and for her family situation." This is not a comment that would ever be made by a true Christ follower! This is a statement you would hear from a Nicolaitan!

I am a Christian Husband & Father with a dynamic 23 year old daughter and I will join my wife and daughter in fighting against the Republican Party and for the rights of all of America’s women.

This dictate from the Republican Supreme Court is about power and control..

Pro-Life is Medicare for All (Single Payer Health insurance), Responsible gun safety regulations, Free College/Trade school for all willing to do the work, Effective Environmental/Climate protection,…etc.

Taking away a woman’s rights over her own body is about power and control.

Time to save America— fight and vote against all Republican politicians.

Regardless, we live in a Secular Society and have a separation of church and state in this country.
That is a Billy Graham quote BTW
No matter what your Religious beliefs, they aren't to be used in making Laws, Rules or Policies....for the rest of us....period.
If you believe Abortion is a sin, taking a living person's life, then by all means, don't have one.
IN America however, your Religious Beliefs aren't supposed to be imposed on others.
It's that simple.
As far as Religion goes, you can believe in what you want too, or nothing at all, you just can't force your beliefs on others.

This is against everything America was founded on.

John Zelinski save democracy by packing the court?? Federal judges’ job is to make sure laws voted on by congress are constitutional. They do not make laws! Pro abortion or anti abortion doesn’t matter but democracy won. Row is not a law. Appointed non elected officials like Supreme Court justices cannot make laws. Now we the people can vote state level if we want abortion. States can petition for an amendment to the constitution to support abortion. All legal ways to support abortion. Packing the court to make laws you like by by passing our congress is very authoritarian and anti democracy.

Tracy McDermott that, along with the abortion debate, also will be a states decision I presume.
Tracy, in the end my opinion will not matter, only my character and individual choices.
Only I can answer for myself at the end of my life. In the meantime I try to be the best person I can be. Who you love doesn't affect me. It's a completely different issue in my book. But, I do agree that each state is allowed to decide and people are allowed to choose the state that best represents their beliefs.
If we truly believe that our opinions are our own then we should have a way to live a life in a place that best represents each of us.

10ºEllis’s argument just has no clout. Her argument is that women that are poor don’t have as effective healthcare as more privileged women. I do love how she singles out black women like there are no poor white, Hispanic, Asian women lol!! And these days women can get proper reproductive healthcare regardless of financial status. There are lots of programs, doctors and clinics that will help women with their pregnancy. And to her other point of poor women can’t afford a child, well there are lots of ways to give that baby to families and couples who are looking. Like I said her argument has no clout.
