First thing to understand is that the equivalent value of the euro and US dollar have simply returned to the original exchange rate that was established when the euro was adopted. During the US economies under Bush, Obama, and Trump administration, the European economy was stronger, so the euro traded at an advantage, rising in value. Now, after a global disease pandemic, supply chain issues, a drop in fuel availability from Russia, rising inflation, and facing other consequences of modern warfare taking place within Europe, the European economy is shakier than in past decades.
In contrast, fuel prices are cheaper in the USA, inflation is present but not as overwhelming as in Europe, employment is high, consumer spending remains high, business is brisk.
So, the European advantage of the past 20 years has been neutralized and both currencies are equal in value.
2ºKatie Reed yeah, trust me if you come from a poor economy to this economy, you will enjoy everything you get in this country. Here poverty means you make less money but you don’t die of starvation. Which in other countries you do. Here poverty is being able to go to places where they will give you help and resources for you to survive. Other places don’t have that. Yet many Americans live below poverty but manage to have a house, a fancy truck and many luxurious things that in other countries you don’t even wish tor because all you wish for is to have a meal for your kids that week.

6ºJohn Marks unfortunately we are too complacent and apathetic to open our eyes to the reality. The responses to my comments are indicative of that. We’re about to hit another housing bubble, and as you indicated, our “prosperity” is artificial. And worse of all, instead of preparing for it, we will just sit back in our recliners in our air conditioned living rooms and blame it on whatever group of politicians WE voted in! It’s the way of an empires demise. But we won’t even let history teach us that.

8ºAnthony Grande I disagree, American policies, does influence world economies, but we aren’t the sole reason at all. I don’t blame Biden mostly, I blame every president that hurts middle class economic policies . You don’t take care of your poor this will happen. Japan for example, is facing its slowest growth and their leaders are facing pressure due to their poor economic decision but by comparison to the U.S., japan is doing well. Meanwhile gas prices maybe high in the US, but not $7 or $8 high. This isn’t all Biden’s fault or majority of his fault. The globe was facing a pandemic and shut down. The pandemic wasn’t a make belief invented by American politics. There’s a lot I’m seeing from Japan, that America is taking for granted or blame POTUS for, but yet seeing a lot of positive coming out of the US. But yet you all are letting your people die and say everything is fine, America was great. But right now it’s looking rough the past 6 years.
