1ºDave Lellig but it is a vaccine remember the vaccine for a virus is different to a disease. The fact is they ridicule the vaccine because of the definition change which they did to Differentiate the two virus and disease.
The parameters and efficiency are said to be bad because they fluctuate which is what happens when a virus mutates. Efficiency will go up and down dependant on that and the individual. We know that and never questioned this before. Are all unvaccinated anti vax nope and it has been thrown around which is wrong. Then again you do have the anti vax and bias who only consider negatives without context.
These things are all scripted so people cling to survival rates and deaths by the vaccine, side effects etc jut then you say well how many from the virus and they respond well that’s not proven. So they are saying no one died fork the virus at all ever that’s a bold statement and not factual.
That’s the issue to me if you only focus on the negatives nothing else no acknowledging the pros at all and manipulate others not to be vaccinated your either anti vax or bias.
Many people acknowledge both sides and said vaccine isn’t for me (that’s absolutely fine). Don’t get me wrong you have extreme pro vaxers who say if your not you shouldn’t be treated medically that’s also extremism.
The actual truth is we know all of this and how vaccines work and the pros and cons but socially we didn’t adapt as well as we could of. Spending time debating this wasted time which is not good in a pandemic. Those bias against the vaccine need to understand thinking for yourself is good but being told what to think by anti vax movement and scripted is a cult.
2ºRachel Scott I think in the uk though there was a lot of frustration and rightly so with the government being so reactive and not proactive. It was a shambles with Ppe being ordered that was not ffp2 etc and wasted money plus mix messages. Other countries it wasn’t as much as the uk with international science groups and noticed Scandinavian countries being even more United and really open and honest and socially adapted very well. Course people were annoyed by restrictions but not to the Level we saw in the uk.
There’s a lot of factors maybe education and health care are ones. We all know in those countries those services are highly financed through higher tax but pay is higher so it’s a balance. USA is divided too I think it’s 67 per cent vaccinated which for a country of that population is quite low. I’m sure it’s divided with upper states (northern) being more likely to some extent to be vaccinated. Certain states will have exceptionally low vaccination rates. I mean the USA does make things very much political when actually a holistic approach is required.
I think partly as well it’s due to us not having a pandemic on this scale in a long long time. The trouble with this bias narrative they say it would change if death rates were increased etc (it was fairly low risk considering nature) but I don’t think it would it’s too extreme and Ingrained in those people. But the arguments as I said were and are scripted so it’s control, coercion, pharmaceutical profits, side effects and deaths but only one side of a debate ie without context or variables being considered.
They cal those vaccinated sheep or sheeple which is great as they follow their script. I have net maybe a handful of sceptics who acknowledge pros and cons of the vaccine. It seems to be to stances and we won’t listen to anybody else. If people just stopped and made an unbiased decision then you can’t ask for more.
That’s the difference I’d never change someone’s narrative or decision that’s not my right. I may show the other side etc but they as I say believe their narrative is the only right one. It’s like a dictatorship or cult as i said.

7ºDom Turner yes! I completely agree. Again so so well said.. I am a pediatric nurse here in the US, -Southern California- and have been at the forefront of the anti-vax “discussion” for years. This has been a whole different animal. Many grabbed on the the Andrew Wakefield situation and it seems folks don’t take the latter of your statement into consideration. As with so many things. The ridicule is out of control. Exactly, we never know why someone is or isn’t vaccinated and frankly it’s no one’s business. This current anti vax and bias movements are absolutely are about politics here. No doubt..
My daughter and her family visited the UK over Christmas last year. They absolutely couldn’t believe how streamlined and “safe” everything was there. Everyone was agreeable (not ‘compliant’ or sheep or manipulated) that this has nothing to do with government- good or bad- it is exactly what it is. A w worldwide public health crisis. Hence a pandemic. Here it is completely conspiracy narratives and justifying bias like you said. It’s heartbreaking scary angering maddening frustrating hurtful almost criminal. 8ºFidaus Nancy of course not that’s a right if anyone it make an unbiased choice. The whole vaccinated vs unvaccinated was a social issue. In some respects the media stirred the pot so to speak. Most unvaccinated are not anti vax in fact they acknowledge the pros and cons in context.
No vaccine ever has been 100 per cent safe we know this. But the whole concepts has been a wash with people saying “it’s poison” or taking the side effects etc out of context.
Should the vaccine be a choice absolutely yes! But it’s a simple thing a decision should be unbiased. The Problem has been those that make biased choices then use narratives or bias to try to manipulate others.
So if people want a choice surely you let people choose. If someone is unvaccinated fine that’s their right and if vaccinated fine. That’s it end of so why is it so hard to do that.
We all actually make decisions in a fair manor in day to day life. But the covid vaccine sees the same rhetoric used ie survival rates high, it’s killed people etc etc it’s all scripted and a narrative one sided. Simmy I think was making the point the anti vax movement focuses on one side or bias. 9ºRachel Scott well the movements were there pre covid but very very quiet. I mean it all really became more of a topical issue with Andrew Wakefield who was an anti vax scientist who ridiculed a vaccine for links with autism. He published an article stating bias and was found to have misled the audience and science community and so was struck from medical register, all qualifications were removed and he was fired. There’s debate in the science field as it was it malicious or just bad research but the outcome is the same.
I publish in nature journal if I made a bias claim etc only negative no context is either expect to be fired or resign out of principle.
The fact is personally I feel to some extent the anti vax or bias movements aren’t actually about the vaccine per say but political or have political elements. It’s like those we saw ages ago anti authoritarian or “fight the system”. It’s not a new phenomenon and hence the rhetoric used to ridicule the vaccine isn’t anything new.
As I say we all probably know people who didn’t get the vaccine the difference is probably 80-90 per cent don’t ridicule it. As I said anti vaxers are about 4 per cent of the population. Any narrative that uses fake accounts, social media as their go to evidence, ridicules others yet claims to be pro choice is never going to be heard. As I said I wouldn’t ridicule someone unvaccinated how do I know they can’t have the vaccine ie a medical condition but to this narrative that’s ok. We see it people who are seriously Ill with covid are being ridiculed for having a vaccine.
Also they say things like natural immunity. So I wonder if there was no restrictions and they manipulated people not to have it would they accept liability. Plus countries tried that Italy and Spain did it and it failed with high deaths and cases.
I think the misconception is a vaccine replaces natural immunity when it aids it. In the uk sure we handled it quite well actually but we did have the worse government in history. But this is about public health. Not conspiracies, narratives or justifying bias. We need to learn from this. If social behaviour changes and views maybe we won’t get the scaremongering articles the media portray. We need to do things socially and government need to make changes and media too.
