1ºChuck Russell Is crime a natural byproduct of drugs? Sure it is. Always has been and always will be. However, that will be the case whether drugs are legal or illegal, and criminalization gives organized crime a huge cash cow via the black market. Not to mention that no one should ever be placed in handcuffs and put in a jail cell simply because of a substance they had in their pocket or were putting in their bodies. If criminalization and getting "tough on drugs" worked, this country would have been rid of it's drug problem a long time ago.

If someone deflects to Trump it indicates they lack the bravery to evaluate the one currently holding office. The problem with that psychosis is that if one spends so much time thinking about the past, rather than the present, the past comes back to haunt them; Trump becomes president in ‘24. My advice is to evaluate and reevaluate how the party in charge is doing, because enabling Biden’s missteps only means a wipeout of the Dems this November and the election of Trump or DeSantis is ‘24. The polls should tell you something about how all walks of life feel about the current state of affairs.

I would actually like to see all politicians have significantly less power and control over us. We are over legislated, by both parties. 4ºTammy Liscia I read it all and I was correct. Illegal children do get benefits as I remembered living in the border of San Diego growing up in the 80s and 90s. I know more about illegals than most Americans and they know the US social welfare’s better than Americans do. Article is biased and only support the left wing agenda. Illegals cost America s 150 billion but only bring in 23 billion. So who is paying the difference honey? Tax payers with the open border policies with free schools, hospitals, and social welfare’s that greedy corporations should be paying for.

6ºAl Conrad did you even read through your own link? Yes the "cages" were put up during the Obama administration to house immigrants temporarily. Children were not separated from their parents. UNaccompanied children were separated from unrelated adult males, as they should be. Were some people kept there longer than the 72 hrs that was intended? At some times yes, because of overcrowding at other detention facilities, and a lack of places to move them to. But not because of policy, like Trump's zero tolerance policy. And again children were not separated from their mothers. Babies, even breast feeding babies, were not pulled from their mothers arms as they were under Trump's policy. And hundreds of those children have still not been reunited with their parents after they were separated and then the parents deported without their children. That was all on Trump.

But the biggest being people are knowing exactly what they are getting without unknown adulterants. Furthermore, they have found that 15% of drug users were hopeless addicts that are unable to overcome their drug addictions or live functional lives. That 15% remained true in both cases of prohibition and with legal access. The research on drug use and addiction domestically and globally suggests a much different approach than the American policies- but I suppose “trust the science” only pertains to COVID and politically advantageous issues
8ºBiden gives zero craps about Americans. He should be charged with treason for allowing whoever and whatever across the border. For every person or drugs seized just times that by 2 or 3 and that's how many is making it's way here. We had journalists at the border where the wall (that one frickin small piece of wall they didn't put up, it's laughable) and people, so many people were calmly walking along and just standing in line to get across. During his 2016 campaign, Trump pledged that Mexico would foot the bill – a promise that went unfulfilled, leaving taxpayers to fund construction. Trump built a mere fraction of what he promised, 452 miles of a wall — most of which replaced old, existing fencing. And he never got Mexico to pay for it. FYI...
