2ºJaye Moore-Kalil Yes, I agree. Point is, all these bills/articles/stories and non-stop discussion keep talking about "assault weapons" or "assault-style weapons"... without specific terminology. I haven't read any of the bills these articles discuss but know that if things are specifically noted, the law will be abused in cases other than gun-related.
Next thing you know, there will be headlines like "Girl sues best friend's parents for contributing to her assault with a firm pillow at a slumber party pillow fight". Extreme? Yea, probably... but then again it's our government and our media. They always take things to the extreme.

Gun manufacturers have federal immunity from suits when their products are not defective and just used for illegal purposes just like you cant sue Ford because someone drove drunk with it. Second there is no Constitutional right to an abortion and Texas has the right to regulate it. The Scoutus ruling makes it clear the states have no right to limit a Constitutional Right found in the 2nd Amendment. Just more gimmicks. The legal purchase of a firearm is no different than any other purchase other than a background check. People use non-firearm weapons to kill people all of the time. People use other types of firearms to kill people all of the time. People use cars to kill people all of the time. Handguns are not the weapon of choice for mass shooters in large scale situations looking to do as much carnage in as small amount of time as possible. They don’t want a weapon you have to reload. They want a weapon that you don’t have to be as precise on your placement of shots and still cause more damage. They aren’t using handguns to blow our children’s bodies apart in schools. They are using semiautomatic rifles to do that. So whether you like it or not, and no matter how many times you type that a handgun is more deadly, the fact is that it is not. Not only in execution style, but mainly because it’s not the weapon being used to blow our children apart.
