2ºLily Rain you are obviously clueless about the Little League World Series games. This actually is sad but big news, there’s teams of 11 12 & 13 yr olds from around the world, that won their regions to play in these games. This year there’s 10 teams from the US, & 10 teams from all over the world. The games are televised all over the world, at the end the best team in the US plays the best International team. Sadly before this little boy got to play a game at the series, he fell off a top bunk bed. He’s in the hospital in a coma with a skull fracture, & a broken cheek bone. It’s sad because they do everything to try to keep these kids safe, & this boy was hurt this bad. I live about 30 miles from Williamsport Pennsylvania, where these amazing games are played, I wait all year to watch these games, it’s the only sport I love to watch. So YES honey, it’s big news to millions of people all around the world.

analysis of 218 bunk-bed accidents and a random sample survey with 991 family interviews were performed in order to establish guidelines for bunk-bed accident prevention. Falls from the top bed during sleep (35.1%) or while playing (34.4%) and falling off the ladder (23.2%) are the leading causes of bunk-bed accidents. Of the 218 children, 91 (41.7%) had sustained major injuries, including 3 polytrauma, 7 skull fractures, 44 cerebral concussions, 33 long bone fractures, 2 Lisfranc injuries, and 2 lacerations of the spleen.
4ºBethany Olson - I think it did have a railing but it came loose or broke off. Little League has been holding these events for decades. I’m pretty sure they go through inspections in order to sponsor these tournaments. I think the kids rough housing, jumping and hanging off the railings probably loosens them or breaks them. Either way, I bet they are insured and will be taking care of all medical expenses.
Hopefully this little boy has a speedy and full recovery. Sadly he was there to fulfill a dream of playing in the tournament and now he can’t play.

You must be an expert on falls by children, having investigated 1000s of falls by kids especially from 3rd floor balconies? A kid can fall off his bike and get a fractured skull. Hell an adult can fall down a flight of stairs and get a fractured skull. Now in less your his doctor and are suspicious of what happened i suggest you shouldn't shame this kid or his family and the doctors in false facts. If you had said I find it hard to believe that this could happen you wouldn't have so many of us criticizing you on your comment.
