Walmart is expanding abortion coverage for employees

The nation’s largest private employer is making the changes to its health care plans effective immediately.

when I worked at Walmart, they did everything they could to keep people from working enough hours to qualify for benefits like health care coverage. They told us we could pay for the plans ourselves, but the monthly cost was over 50% of my pay.

I know health insurance has changed a lot since I worked there; but as far as I can tell, it's only gotten worse. It's state mandated extortion is all it is. I've been happy to have insurance in the past; but for the cost, I could save enough money to pay for any health care needs 10x over if I start adding up premiums, deductibles, max out of pocket, out of network, non-covered services, etc...

Good for Walmart for extending coverage; but it only matters if it is affordable to their employees already making less than living wages. And more importantly, only if their plans end up benefiting their employees rather than just tapping them dry.

Theda Saffo well, if you follow the money, it makes sense. Do you have evidence from corporate communication from these firms that expressly say they support access to abortion and contraception for their employees and the dependents of their employees? Until you do, I think the filings with the regulatory agencies will show cost avoidance if we delve into them. I just use logic and available information. Please provide contrary evidence if you have it to share.

Given I didn't insult you or anyone else when I made my post, you might be equally civil when disagreeing with me. If you can't do that then I will conclude some aspects about you and perhaps block you.
