Richard Boughton everything to do with Biden policies. You forget that the US is the leader on global economic movement, and that the US inflation is the worst in the developed world. US Policy drives the global.market. Bidens policies starting with his day one EOs were bad for the economy, not to mention several other issues.

On Fues and energy, day one.... Biden killed 67% of domestic active drilling and exploration permits. He added massive regulatory burdens to the remaining 33%. He then canceled lease sales. He added additional regulatory burdens on refineries. He killed delivery systems that would have brought an additional 1 Million BPD to Gulf refineries.

All of that was on day one. The resting energy cost spike impacted all other sectors of the US economy.and snowballed to US trading partners. Oil futures are are a global market, and when the planets biggest energy producer, the US, makes major changes, it impacts the whole planet. Let's also remember that the "supply chain", is fueled by that same rapid cost increasing product. Many truckers went out of business as a result of the cost.

Look at all the MAGA, Qanon, KKK Trump supporters on this thread. Trump would be proud of all of you The point is economic stability....Trump’s predecessor Obama was smart and ran the country well and built it to stability, Trump was not smart in any capacity and destroyed the country in less than 4 years for his own personal gain which is why he was kicked out after 1 term in office with a plethora of legal issues pending.....a superpower needs to have stable governance and not some trigger happy child with access to the "nuclear football"

In addition to this, Trump allowed Covid to run wild until he was infected himself. The decrease in gas prices are due to federal investments in alternative energy sources combined with a drop in global oil prices per barrel and stable communication with international suppliers by the Biden administration. Trump could never do this and doesn’t have the mental capacity to do this on any level. The only thing Trump can do at this point is spread both his cheeks for Bubba in prison.

Frank Rizzo Franky again your the one who came out of nowhere told me how clueless I was yet you haven't brought anything to the table but some failed attempts at an insult that's not how this works if you the nads to try to insult someone because you didn't like what they said your supposed to show me how clueless I am and how you have your finger on the real information to what happened over there but apparently you your just another keyboard tough guy that thinks this is my opportunity to make this fox viewer qanon cult fallower bully him back in his corner in silence..well didn't work just proved yet another liberal tool whose learning how you been instructed to treat anyone you don't agree wirh failed miserably..come back with you have some facts shows im the clueless one here..and please don't degrade yourself by posting some opinion piece some media activist punched out as your bases of you vast knowledge

Terrie Risse Reuvers US Weekly Supplied Motor Gasoline (implied Consumption) is only slightly higher than it was during the pandemic and is way lower then pre pandemic. So the statistics show that we have an overall decrease in the demand for gasoline despite it being summer which typically spikes as a high for gasoline demand.

So the question becomes.... Why the significantly increased sustained prices of fuel when demand is at record lows for non pandemic summers. Peoples politics have nothing to do with the current statistics and inflationary impacts.

This topic should not be a republican / democrat debate. When demand is way down and prices are still double what they were pre pandemic there is an inflationary issue effecting fuel that has been exacerbated by a policy approach that says to any company in the fuel business "we are planning to shut you down" you naturally get a decrease in investment in infrastructure and growth for those companies, the prices you see today are reflective of where people speculate fuel will go in the future.

Frank Rizzo I don't understand you decided to reply to my comment witch something was misspelled..then you processed to tell me how clueless I am to the economic collapse in Venezuela meaning your somehow superior to assume somome you never met has has no life experience or family there you can make failed attempts at belittling a complete stranger seems your triggered for whatever reason bullying others when your called our you then shows who is who the clueless one here really is..ill be willing to match information anytime with you except you got can't back what you stepped in showing me where anything i said wasn't facts you sure don't have the bandwidth to have any civil conversation about what caused that country to collapse..so why not control your emotions or be ready to educate someone who is clueless but watch may run into someone and get schooled im just the one..I don't make idle comments about things I am not clueless about apparently you don't have the same confidence

I don't know where people have seen a constant 70 day decrease in gas because where I live it's pretty much the same thing. It went down to $3.59, then back up to $3.70, then up even more. Here it isn't much under $4.00. There is absolutely no way it has decrease for 70 straight days. Yesterday, I was in a gas station with a lady who was bragging about the $2,000 she gets every month in food stamps. This lady was standing in line, talking as loud as can be into her expensive ear piece. She had the newest Iphone with sparkling case. Her nails had been professionally done with airbrush. Her hair had some long extensions, braided, colored in multiple highlights that she had done at an upscale salon. Meanwhile, I can't step foot in the grocery store without spending a minimum of $200 and will have nothing to show for it. Most of the food items I used to enjoy are never in stock anymore. I'm left getting the leftovers that the people with $2,000 to spend didn't want. I couldn't even imagine what that amount in groceries would look like. I spent $15 for 2 boxes of oatmeal. The cat food that I have been feeding my cats since they were born has consistently increased in it's price and was $38 yesterday. That bag used to be a little bit of a struggle for me to carry because of the weight. Yesterday, I grabbed it with one hand, threw it over my shoulder, grabbed another heavy bag, and opened the door into the house. There is no way that bag is the same amount as what I used to get. We are being charged so much more and these corporations and screwing us by way of shrink flation. If I sold an item to someone and didn't provide the quantity or quality of what was advertised, I would be in court so fast. Yest these businesses are allowed to keep lying to the consumers.

Craig Goodman craiger you’re the one who made the claim of being knowledgeable about all things Venezuela. You claim to know the real reason Venezuela had economic problems. I asked you to Show us what you know but instead you made a silly attempt to make this about me. So it appears you really don’t know anything at all about Venezuela other than what you read in Wikipedia. Just like all the others that claim to have vast knowledge you crashed and burned like I knew you would. Do yourself a favor and stop embarrassing not only you but your whole family. bye bye craigy.

Debbie Krause Dearth That’s ALWAYS true regardless of who the POTUS is! The UE rate is the rate!
You seem to be implying that it’s low because people have just quit looking for jobs. That’s BS. If you want a job you can find one easy. Every single day businesses are posting on FB looking for workers. Businesses are holding job fairs & just yesterday I actually got a piece of snail mail from a company looking to hire.
YOU are trying to make it seem worse than it is because the truth doesn’t fit your narrative! You actually want the economy to be bad but the facts are the facts!

Kees Colijn yes, except at the same time covid restrictions world wide lifted at the same time causing a major shift in consumer demands, which caused a shortage and oil production wasn't keeping up with consumer demands. =why such high gas prices. When OPEC a few months ago increased its oil production after Biden held talks with them it was met with higher production. =lower gas prices due to consumer demands were reached. Now OPEC stated they now will lower production. By the way increase in oil also causes increase in majority of consumer goods since factories use oil, farms use gas, trucks delivering goods as shipping use gas.

10ºHayley Fitzsimons Hester If you were blaming Biden for the prices rising, you should certainly give him credit for them going down.
Reality is he had nothing to do with prices rising and little to do with them falling.
But BECAUSE they rose so much he did take responsive measures to help. And they have.
In coordination with a few others he released oil into the market...and the problem was mostly global supply and demand, so yes, it helped.
Global supply and demand coupled with oil company greed as they try to make up for lost revenue from 2020.
Why did 192 Republicans vote against legislation to address price gouging?
