Kudos to CNN for broadcasting such an interesting program shedding light on the important work women do in reporting the news under extremely dangerous circumstances while breaking stiffling gender barrier existing in this profession! I'm eager to watch the program and learn more about those pioneer women! Having women in a field heavily dominating by men and celebrating them is really essential as their representation is a way for new narratives to emerge. Representation is so very important to reflect the reality of what's happening around the world. For those unaware of the sexism dominating this industry you can read this research paper on the subject https://www.researchgate....sexual_violence which states that "war reporting remains widely regarded as men's domain. It remains a highly sexist domain. Women war reporters continue to face condescension, pseudo-protectionism, disdain, lewdness, and hostility from their bosses, rivals, military brass, and the public. They also experience sexual violence, although they are discouraged from complaining about assaults, so that they can keep working." #IAmHereUS
