1ºBob Howard why do I vote Dem? Because democratic policies allowed me to buy a home when i would have been able to without the policy. Democratic policies provided the services my son needed to overcome what was thought to be injuries that would have him never able to support himself (he is an Eagle Scout and works full time). I can go on and on how policies that the Democrats have put in place have benefited my family and friends. I fully believe that we as a nation can accomplish more when we work together than when we promote a nation of individuals that only care about self.

5ºBob Howard wait, the republicans took control of the plants and lines away from the state when they deregulated the industry. They divided generation and transmission, it is now all private business, is it not? Private business that has a monopoly that gets to decide if they do any infrastructure work.
Look at SONGS, the private companies that owned the plant, thought we could squeeze more profit out of that play if we upgrade it … only to have their poorly engineered plan fall apparat and they had the close the plant. That closure is costing ratepayers billions … how is any of this the state?

They are against Healthcare for working class and poor people, they are against folks being paid a living wage, they are against Social Security and Medicare, they are against environmental regulations that afford us clean air and water , they are against the domestic terrorism protection act , they are against babies getting the formula they need to live, they are against education. They are against Healthcare for veterans and used it as a political ploy , until the backlash from a furious public was overwhelming. Republicans voted down a 35$ cap on insulin for folks with private healthcare insurance.

They cannot manufacture enough EV’s to over-stress the grid. They only make up 2% of vehicle sales!
Sure, if EVERYONE changed to EV’s tomorrow it would be an issue, but that simply cannot happen. The grid will expand as demand increases… just like it always has. There is no ‘cart before the horse’ going on.

The findings from the Fox News survey on Wednesday followed November figures showing that annual consumer price inflation in the U.S. rose by 6.8 percent. This was the highest rise in the price of a basket of goods and services since 1982.
It also comes as Democrats try to get the $1.75 trillion social care package across the line amid concerns among Republicans and centrist Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) over the inflationary impact of injecting more federal money into the economy.

It’s 56% gas; 23% imports (mostly, coal and gas).
(At least they saved Diablo Canyon for another 5 years….and a small percentage of this imports, are from palo verde in NM. That nuclear has no direct emissions, and lower indirect emissions, than solar, according to the 2013 IPCC. But, much of California’s grid, IS gas…as are much of its imports, so, California going EV, won’t help with climate change, as much as you think it will……)
But, in Illinois, if I went EV, it truly WOULD have a positive Impact.
