Frankie Flanders Trump would have been blamed if he didn’t respond maybe. But this is a local/state legislature issue. The state controls the money. They also create the regulations for the water systems, as well as have over site, and would be the ones who are responsible for infrastructure in their state. They funnel the money down to the local municipalities. This issue came from flooding where a failed pump couldn’t handle the historical flooding. People can’t see in the future and see an issue until there is one. Can we prepare? Sure, but only so much. Do our water systems need upgrading? Absolutely. But it is up to each state legislatures to do so.
