1ºSept. 16: Over the past week, an average of 491 Americans have died of COVID each day. The week before, the number was 382. The week before that, 494. And so on. It’s not over, but the past five months are the longest we’ve gone without a major surge in deaths since the pandemic’s beginning, and the current numbers are far below last winter’s Omicron highs. (Case counts and hospital admissions have continued to fluctuate but, thanks in large part to the protection against severe disease conferred by vaccines and antivirals, they have mostly decoupled from ICU admissions and deaths; the curve, at long last, is flat.) But though daily mortality numbers have stopped rising, they’ve also stopped falling. Nearly 3,000 people are still dying every week. Numbers are expected to surge during the winter months. No one can say with any certainty what 2023 might have in store, but as a reference point, 200 deaths daily would translate to 73,000 deaths over the year. COVID would remain a top-10 leading cause of death in America in this scenario, roughly twice as deadly as either the average flu season or a year’s worth of motor-vehicle crashes. COVID deaths persist in part because we let them. America has largely decided to be done with the pandemic, even though the pandemic stubbornly refuses to be done with America.

2ºIt is the hospitalization rate which matters, not the number of people infected. So long as COVID does not mutate into more virulent variants, we should not worry. The current Omicron variant and sub-variants have not been causing serious illness in the overwhelming majority of the population due to that they are far less pathogenic compared to predecessor variants such as Delta. Only individuals with serious comorbidities (usually the elderly) and those who are significantly immune compromised have a greater risk of severe illness. But these more vulnerable individuals also run the same risk of severe illness due to infection with other pathogens including the flu virus. Moreover, the majority of the population has some immunity from past infection and/or vaccination. Furthermore, there are better treatments available now. As viruses continue to mutate, they can (but not always) become less virulent. The virus that caused the 1918 Spanish flu is one example; it no longer is the lethal virus it once was.
3ºThe vaccine doesn't work, and a contaminated mask actually spreads the virus! These people are living in a COVID myth or lying.

Interestingly she admits the vaccinated can spread the virus, but she seems to ignore the point they have to get the virus before they can spread it.
This was Aug 5, 2021, and they are still promoting a completely useless vaccine mandate for a vaccine that is only a treatment!

4ºLoopy Larry: He could of. We could have used Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. Those are game changers. My Mom was 100% better the next day, but then she overwhelmed herself out with a day of fun with her bestie in November 2021. Her doctor admitted her to the hospital, where they almost killed her by prescribing her Remdesivir. She looked like death when I saw her in person. They told her Covid almost killed her. She still to this day believes the doctor when I and many others told her it was the Remdesivir they prescribed to her. She is still not the same. I am frankly very worried. I have tried to tell her but she brushes it off. At least she is unvaccinated like me.
