I am sure that race and gender were two of the factors in selecting Kamala Harris. But they were not the only ones. If Biden did not believe she was qualified to replace him as President due to his incapacitation or death there is no way that she would have been chosen as VP. Biden has been in leadership and understands the consequences for the country of having someone in the Presidency that is ill prepared. But regardless, unless you were in the room when the subject of who would be chosen was made ( which I am sure you were not), then you don't know anything more than anyone else that was not in the room when it happened. T hats the fact. That said, I agree that Joe engages in identity politics as has every single politician on the planet. I am also glad that he does. Old white men have failed this country from the very beginning. The majority of the country is women, a growing portion of the country is black. The fastest growing groups are Latino and Asian.
