I don't see how prayers made the difference. I GUARANTEE you that there are many thousand of other rabies victims... and cancer victims... And stroke victims... and car crash victims etc who didn't make it despite the heartfelt prayers of loved ones.
Besides... If this unlikely recovery was indeed god's will... Why in the world would she have to go through months of rehab. Why wouldn't this benevolent god... Simply nip the problem in the bud and prevent her from getting rabies in the first place? It literally makes no sense.
Where was this god when hurricane Ian literally destroyed fort Myers Florida along with many other places along the Florida gulf coast. Meanwhile, my town was spared (by about 40 miles). Did the people of Tampa Bay pray harder than the people of fort Myers?
I could go on but I think you get my point.
It seems to me that a prayer is just a euphemism for a wish or a hope. Sometimes when we wish for things they come true and sometimes they don't. It's as simple as that.

3ºNick Wellington Those are all valid points. Prayer does not make since when we see so many terrible tragedies happening in the world. Why does it seem to work for some and not for others? Why does God allow these types of things to happen? So I completely understand your questions. The Bible does teach the multiple reasons behind the tragedies we see in the world, the reason for prayer as well how God will reverse/fix things such as the death of these two lovely people that lost their lives way too young. The answer is surprising yet full of hope. It does take a humble and diligent study of the Bible to find the answer to your questions but I promise you that they are there.
