Νικος Σταθοπουλος no need to elaborate for someone like yourself, who clearly just wanted to climb onto the soapbox to express his opinions on George Floyd.

Let’s instead talk about the trauma that children face. And the hope they might get from knowing others have also experienced and witnessed traumatic events, and that it didn’t break them.

If you can’t understand the trauma involved in the situation, I’m not sure where to begin with you.
A lot of soul searching, maybe? Asking yourself why seeing a black man executed isn’t considered trauma to you?

I don’t know, man.

I’d prefer to reiterate the message to children that the trauma the experience doesn’t have to defeat and destroy them.

Rick Shellhammer executed? He died because of an overdose and the cops were just scapegoats. We have chest camera footage clearly showing that at no point did the cops kneel on his neck, still they were convicted.
You may want to play around cause it obviously fits your agenda (evil white police officers abuse the black community - i guess all the videos on YouTube showing black people abusing cops, both black and white ones at that, are fake...) but you can't convince me that there was any trauma involved with this.

PS: Newsflash, when something is hard to watch you don't stand by and watch, logic right? Trauma is forceful, not voluntary.

We are all going to die one day and after this face judgement (Hebrews 9:22). Our good works or religion cannot get us into heaven because we have sinned: We broke all of Gods commandments. The penalty for sin is burning in hell forever.
So The only way to heaven is though Jesus Christ (God in the flesh, born of a virgin and lived a sinless life)

We must believe the gospel (good news)

This is the Gospel 1 Corinthians 15 1-4

1. Jesus Christ DIED FOR OUR SINS
2. Was BURIED in a tomb
3. And bodily ROSE again the third day.

If we simply admit we are sinners and simply believe that he paid for our sins with his shed blood, your spot in heaven and eternity with Christ is secured. No hell punishment is left for you.

Will you trust the blood of Christ as payment for your sins?

Russell Godwin No, I’m completely correct.

The legacy of slavery and slavery itself had a direct impact on the creation, formation, structure, and subsequent history of police forces in this nation.
Not to mention the direct impact of the legacy of slavery’s effect regarding the treatment of persons of color.

This isn’t arguable in the slightest. I mean, by all means argue, I don’t intend to shut down discourse.
But you’d be laughably wrong.
If you can read what I just wrote in this specific comment and still come back and say, “nope, the legacy of slavery didn’t impact the police or treatment of black people in the US” then I’m not sure where to begin.

Russell Godwin Why would I point out any testimony like that when I never claimed anything like that.

Again, if you don’t think slavery and the legacy of slavery has anything to do with the creation, formation, structure, and history of our police forces in this nation, and if you don’t think slavery and the legacy of slavery had directly affected the treatment of black people by others in this nation, then you simply have a long way to go before you have any thoughts on the matter even worth discussing.

I mean, go ahead and post your racist hothead rant.
Literally only a racist would deny what I wrote.
Or someone completely ignorant of American history.

You’re flat out wrong.

David Rush I strongly disagree.

And “some kind of trauma” is minimizing the major trauma people experience.

I doubt you experienced the trauma I did. Most have not.
And a very large amount of people experienced much more than I ever did.
And I would not wish you to experience such things.

But it does everyone a disservice to minimize the experience of others.

I feel like it does you the biggest disservice of everyone, when you minimize and dismiss the traumatic experiences of others.

Quite obviously you are free to disagree.

But again, I think the focus should be on the message to children that traumatic events occur and affect us, that they are not alone, that there are ways to process the emotions and pain, and that others out there love them.

Again, I’d like to express that perhaps you should give (more) empathy a chance. It will only do you good.

Rick Shellhammer you can disagree all you want but someone who has experienced trauma can't write a book about trauma (professionals exist for that purpose).
Also trauma? What trauma? Did they shoot him and that child saw blood getting splattered all over the place? Did they beat the living daylights out of him? The guy had enough drugs in his system to kill a bull. The guy was saying i can't breathe since the moment they placed him in the back of the police car, long before they kneeled on his back (there's video online proving both by the way). So what trauma are we talking about exactly? Please elaborate.
