New inflation data shows that US prices were still uncomfortably high last month, despite aggressive action from the Federal Reserve

Regarding inflation things I do help myself is working overtime at my place of employment and I typically don't spend money on a regular basis for things that I want besides the grocery store since I love to eat and have a strong appetite and when I'm at Kroger I always use my discount card. I also set aside as much as possible and deposit it into a savings account. Inflation is here to stay in my opinion. It's sad that inflation is as bad as it currently is because from what I hear it's almost as terrible as the inflation that was going on in the early 1980's.

Gayle Walker I know my middle class family was FAR better off when Republicans were in charge. We were able to buy a house, put money into savings, go on vacation, my husband's company was able to bring back bonuses and large raises. Now, our monthly expenses have gone up $1,000, we struggle to make ends meet, have had to reduce the amount of groceries we buy, no vacation for us, can't put money into savings. So you are very wrong, Republicans were the ONLY ones to help middle class people. You do know low earners qualify for medicaid right and their insurance is free.

Gary Leighton Sayers Outsourcing and the need for resources outside the US has contributed to inflation but changing that reliance is not going to address inflation right now; it's part of a long term solution and there are government incentives encouraging it. Inflation is driven by supply and demand. Corporations will price things at what people are willing to pay with the least amount of cost (lead to outsourcing) because their goal is to make as much profit as they can. Interest rate changes have an immediate impact. At some point an increase will decrease demand so supply gets closer to demand (bringing stability) or is even more than demand, which often leads to decreases in price because it costs corporations to have inventory that they are not moving.

Deb Lowenthal massive profits? The only stores open anymore are the Big Corps. Pathetic Joe and clowns have destroyed the small business market. I bet the “big guy” gets 10% from all of the large stores. You need to speak to a Truck Driver. It now takes $1100 to fill a normal semi truck each and every time. Truckers have to ask for more money because of this and companies are reluctant to pay the extra $. Soon truckers will quit because they are not profiting. What happens to this country if the trucks stop running? Empty shelf mania!! This economy goes as the truckers go. No truckers = no economy… plain and simple.

Deb Lowenthal gas is high because of Pathetic Joe. What did you think was going to happen when Joe opened war on the industry? You just had to know gas companies were going to do this when Pathetic Joe preaches EV. Now he’s begging for gas internationally and those countries jack up the price because they can.. a lot of them have a closet hatred for this country. After all of this… the only nimrods buying EV are the sheep. Transferring wealth from gas to EV is the democrat name of the game. This has nothing to do with environment.
