1ºI really do have to wonder. Would any of these vaccine protesting ideologues refuse if Christ were making this a point?
Here's a point. A month ago, I went to the Bahamas with family. We came back after a week, and I was "covid-19 positive". Almost three years, and never had even a cold. I was vaccinated fully and took the usual precautions anyway, because I also suffered a stroke in July and have COPD. Yet somehow I contracted this virus anyway, which wasn't so bad except for the COPD. It's mostly in the right lower lung, but now it pushed up and along with the virus, almost totally shut down the right lung and my breathing. Thus on on the 24th of October, sent me to the ER. From the 8th to the 27th, I was still covid positive. They took good care, and soon enough the new meds did their thing, and I was breathing again almost normally.
To the fire fighters, etc., if you want to chance your prospects, and hopefully do not have any immune deficiencies, you probably will not have too much problem, but the people that you would come into contact with, like me, you risk their lives. And I am sure that your religion will not do anyone else any good either. BTW...Christ as you claim, if you want to claim to be that religious, also "created" this virus, and the means with which to fight against it. Give your so called "religious" fundisms a second thought!
2ºLinda Andersson no, it doesn't. I, nor anyone else, has ever claimed it did. I will repeat myself for your sake: It greatly reduces the chance of death due to the virus. It also greatly reduces the chance that you will need to be hospitalized due to the virus. It somewhat impedes the spread of the virus by making the new host less likely to be as contagious or as severely sick. It makes a huge difference to the cost burden on the health care system as well as the physical limitations of space in the hospitals. Like ANY vaccine, as new strains develop to elude existing vaccines, new vaccines must be made and taken to fortify against it. It is no different from the flu vaccine in that, every year as new strains circulate, new "boosters" against the new strains are needed. What is so hard about understanding this? People have been able to understand the science behind getting a new flu shot every year for decades now. How is this so hard for people to follow?

I honour my mother and father because they gave me life, cared for me, raised me and taught me right from wrong. I have my whole life to look forward to and don't need the promise of some fairy tale to implore me to be good in this one. I do unto other how I would want the to do unto me as it is the golden rule and *newsflash* does not come from the bible, it is an old Pagan lesson. No, you're right, I don't believe in your sky daddy... but I would fight to the death to defend YOUR right to believe as you would... and anyone's right to believe whatever they need to believe to bring the peace in this world. I just don't happen to need that belief. The world and reality are enough for some of us.
4ºKyle Kotalik yes, it does greatly impede the spread, unless you know something the WHO and all the scientists don't know. And no, you're free not to get the vaccine. There's something you and the people who tout "free speech" don't seem to understand: Freedom of choice does not mean freedom from consequence. You are free to choose to not get the vaccine and endanger others, but that does not mean that your employer has to keep you around and pay you to endanger their staff and customers. Just as you are free to be selfish and not get the vaccine and keep this pandemic circulating, your employer is free to make their decisions too.

And the ENTIRE world is going through an economic downturn as a result, but it's the Democrat's fault that we're here. lol sure Now who's fault is it in the rest of the world that are experiencing the same inflation. The people didn't buy that QoP talking point for this election. They were smarter - hence the lack of the red wave. The QoPers didn't have a plan to fix anything, just point fingers, and America knew it. The vaccine has been proven safe and effective, no vaccine is a cure all. Would you say the flu vaccine is a bust? It saves millions of lives every year. I laugh at the same people that get a flu shot, but get their hair on fire over the COVID vax. 6ºDamian Saa Ask yourself why then, have governments invested MILLIONS of dollars in vaccinating their public in order to take pressure off an overloaded health care system. Why both the CDC and the World Health Organization are begging people to vaccinate. Why every doctor is urging their patients to vaccinate themselves and their children. Ask why they keep working to develop more up to date vaccines to battle the new and emerging strains of this virus. Ask yourself why it is that the people winding up in the hospitals are the unvaccinated, why it is that the statistics point to less and less vaccinated people dying and why the numbers of unvaccinated people keep soaring. Ask yourself why you have been so reluctant to use critical thinking skills.
7ºThomas Moreland dude, seriously. I am an LGTBQIA+ ally. I know you don't know me, but calling me a trans hater is really offensive. I chose not to use inclusive language because I didn't want to have a whole other argument with you because your stance on this reads republican, so I assumed (obviously wrongly) that YOU would be an anti-LGTBQIA+ person. But, if we both support trans rights, then that is one thing we can agree on. I am very aware that PEOPLE get pregnant, not just women and not just those who identify as women. Some people who identify as men also can get pregnant as well as gender queer, gender fluid, non-binary and questioning. Please, don't assume I'm full of hate, I'm literally on here pleading with people to save lives and respect those who can't protect themselves against this virus or hate.

Well, there are any number of reasons for any of that.
1. they thought they were more effective, they were, even when they were saying it would prevent spread with zero data backing that claim.
2. I've been strictly speaking about vaccine for the sake of spread, so your question regarding a push has zero bearing for the individual looking to prevent illness in others (good diversion btw from the fact that the vaccinated spread omicron, oh, and also ONLY vaccinated and triple tested individuals were allowed, and this has happened multiple times, more recently in mcmurdo with 98 infected).
3. There is always money involved.
4. To reiterate, since it is to only help the individual, the individual should be the one to decide whether or not to be vaccinated, especially weighing the pros/cons and necessity.
5. Children have a harder time with the flu than COVID.
6. Vaccinated/unvaccinated hospitalizations have actually evened out.

Notice how they backed off that talking point? And you are wrong about Americans, we care about our neighbors , family and friends. This message of get the vaccine or you will die didn’t happen, so they shifted the message to if you don’t get the vaccine that means you don’t care about others. And wearing a mask was a compliance tool. Did you know that most people don’t even wear them correctly? And throwing in your statement about babies when you are pro abortion is so predictable.
