Floridians are once again picking up the pieces after Nicole slammed into the state

I just have a hard time feeling any apathy for Republicans that continue to rebuild from the last 3 hurricanes. Definition of insanity, continuously repeat the rebuild a new home atop the same old spot and expect it won't happen again with longer stilts. If my house continued falling into sinkholes since the first one. The following year took a row of 3 houses, that year left my house alone aside from a few corner cracks and about 100 ft of interior cracks in the wallboard. So the city fills the hole in and next year same thing all over again. Well they got of the hook as far the cost of my house. Only raised two corners by pumping in concrete, and a skim of finishing mud and sand paper. Sense told me to move rather than empty broken building materials, fill the hole in with the city engineering departments order, and go through it all over again. They agreed to move me to a new building site a top granite block 50 ft thick and an area that's the size of the Canucks arena. The rock has been there for 110 million years. plus the cost of an average 3 br home. I invested another $350.000.
I have my new home overlooking Jericho beach. And no more sink holes. For those of you who hadn't ever had to experience not knowing
the first time your house dropped 20 meters at 3:30 am,
0 light, the power to the house broke off at the utility pole. The second time the 3 houses to the left of mine all fell into the hole where mine was the year prior. My house only slid down 6" back yard only. I did endure a short burst of panic. That was my limit. And the beginning of my relocation.
