This is the risk of renting in places where natural disaster risk is high. Landlords cannot allow people to stay in homes where health and safety risk is high after a disaster (mold, structural damage, etc.) and it takes a long time to get the house repaired - if it isn't a total loss. People sometimes have no option except to move where there is available housing and/or employment. The "have-nots" always take it the shorts in these scenarios. It's sad. By the way - there are almost half a million motel and hotel rooms in Florida....and a hundred or so at Mar-a-Largo....maybe DeSantis could work up some kind of state subsidy arrangement for some people...you know..short term stays until housing becomes available...half a million is a lot of votes...
