The Club Q shooting fits into an enduring US pattern of intimidating vulnerable groups where they congregate | CNN

The Colorado Springs shooting is one recent illustration of how violence -- or the threat of violence -- can turn a place that was once a source of comfort for a particular vulnerable group into a site of fear, even anguish.

The Trevor Project’s 2022 National Survey on LGBTQ ️‍⚧️ Youth Mental Health demonstrates that rates of suicidal thoughts have trended upward among LGBTQ young people over the last three years, making our life-saving work all the more important.

Capturing the experiences of nearly 34,000 LGBTQ youth ages 13 to 24 across the United States, with 45% of respondents being LGBTQ youth of color and 48% being transgender or nonbinary, our fourth annual national survey is one of the most diverse surveys of LGBTQ youth ever conducted.

These data provide critical insights into some of the unique suicide risk factors faced by LGBTQ youth, top barriers to mental health care, and the negative impacts of COVID-19 and relentless anti-transgender legislation. This research also highlights several ways in which we can all support the LGBTQ young people in our lives—and help prevent suicide.

So it turns out the shooting in Colorado was carried out by a "non-binary"guy with a history of making violent threats against other people as well. So much for the arrogant, idiotic assumptions and presumptions initially put forward by the mainstream media. Meanwhile, people with SENSE in their heads decided to sit back and wait for more REAL information.

It doesn't even surprise me that this is the case. Wrong assumptions like this are frequently made by the mainstream media. It's their M.O. and the very reason why they've been losing all credibility with a LOT of people in recent years.

So strange that Democrat liberal progressives try to instantly blame a entire conservative political group for all these crimes even if they come from within their own people.
The shooter in Colorado from my understanding is gay, the nut who attacked Mr Pelosi is a left wing activist , the shooter in the Virginia Walmart is African American .
Maybe hate and evil is a condition that all humans suffer from.
Or if Leftists can’t blame crimes on the right they can go after a inanimate object like a gun and blame guns for violence and not people.
According to Democrats and left wing activist the motivation for a crime only matters if it is a white supremacist or right winger .
It may be mass hysteria.

Mike Geier yeah it sure was a great time to be gay… Policing in the 80s and early 90s was virulently homophobic, whipped up by hysteria around Aids and gay-baiting newspapers such as the Sun, Daily Mail and News of the World. Manchester’s police chief, James Anderton, penned a tabloid column about Aids in which he described gay men as “swirling in a human cesspit of their own making”. Gay saunas were raided. “Disorderly house” charges were pressed against gay bars and nightclubs… did i mention it was even illegal to be gay back in the 40s i think..

It has little to do with firearms and more to do with the disunity caused by political and cultural polarization this country is going through, which it was bound to experience given the shaky ground this country was built on. A country born out of revolution and people still sit here and scratch their head wondering why 250 years later America is the only country that experiences these unique problems on a scale no other country does. No it’s not just Democrats’ fault, no it’s not just Republicans’ fault. It’s a moral, ideological, and philosophical rot that exists at the very core of the United States’ soul.

️‍⚧️LGBTQ+ youth are more likely than their heterosexual or cisgender peers to report high levels of trauma symptoms including hyper-vigilance and avoidance, putting them at greater risk of suicide, according to new research from The Trevor Project, a suicide prevention and crisis intervention group for LGBTQ+ young people.

In a report published Monday, more than 30 percent of LGBTQ+ youth between the ages of 13 and 24 reported high levels of trauma symptoms. Another 60 percent said they had experienced low to moderate levels of trauma, and just 4 percent reported never having experienced any trauma symptoms at all.
...
Trevor Project researchers said experiences of discrimination, harassment and violence against LGBTQ+ youth can contribute to trauma symptoms, which can include feeling scared, anxious or unsafe. A June report from the LGBTQ+ media advocacy group GLAAD found that roughly 70 percent of LGBTQ+ Americans face regular discrimination based on their sexual orientation or gender identity, an increase over the last two years.

The impact of recent legislation that targets LGBTQ+ people and their fundamental rights also cannot be discounted, Myeshia Price, a senior research scientist at The Trevor Project, said Thursday.
