He undercuts the free press, insulting anyone who questions his authority or version of the facts.
He scolds those who speak out in peaceful protest, mocks those whose opinions are different from his own, and rewards those who support him no matter what.
He refuses to listen to scientists and historians, making up his own reality to match his lust for political power.
He ignores the evidence proving that leaders of foreign governments including Russia and Saudi Arabia have approved the assassination of high-profile dissenters.
He has reshaped government and left agency and judicial leadership positions unfilled, thus disempowering those offices and concentrating all control in his inner circle.
He has banished anyone from his cabinet whose words or actions represent dissent from his will, and surrounded himself with yes-men.

Many had known that Donald Trump used racial hatred to win the election by playing into the racism of middle America, especially when it came to immigrants. Trump spoke vaguely by effectively on a variety of issues and told people basically what they wanted to hear, even if that meant making promises he couldn’t keep or playing into a false narrative.
Trump and the class of billionaires he represents were able to easily distract voting Americans with social issues while continuing to entrench the corrupt system that they were profiting from.
So, the question really isn’t how Donald Trump became a billionaire president, but why it was allowed to happen in the first place.
