1ºWhy is the Delhi Municipal Corporation election being given the coverage worthy of a State or National Election??

The 5 largest Municipal Corporations in India are as under:

Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai

In the last few years (post 2019) elections were held in the following corporations with results as under:

Hyderabad - Dec 2020 - Result: BRS (56/150) Mayor: BRS (supported by AIMIM)

Kolkata - Dec 2021 - Result: TMC: 134/144 Mayor: TMC

Chennai - Feb 2022 - Result: DMK (153/200) Mayor: DMK

(BMC elections are in 2023 Jan)

I dont remember any of these elections getting a minute by minute, seat by seat update and the national media coverage that Delhi is getting.

To add to this even Delhi in its entirety is not a full state.

So, I ask again, why is the MCD election being given so much of a coverage?

What makes the MCD elections so important on a national scale?

How the result of the MCD elections affect the national agenda?

Is the MCD election just being used as a well crafted propaganda platform to promote certain parties?

Or....

Do they want the public of the country to be busy with Election Derbies rather to divert their attention from the realities of life??

Inflation, Unemployment, Social Disharmony, the RBI repeatedly raising the repo rate (yes they did it again) and increasing the cost of living for the common people !!!
