So were any put up in hotels? Did they get a refund on the ticket? Were they able to trade flights? Is it the usual complaints when someone does not pay attention that Mother Nature and pending weather event is coming? Do we need to put economics in the school system explicitly. You have trade offs. You want affordable tickets which Southwest does but the trade off some services not available during disasters. Who made the decision to fly during blizzards? You do that we have less competition and the plane flights will not be affordable so the rich win and you lose. If it is chronic that is an issue but if it is once and awhile and due to Mother Nature that is entirely different. The freeways here in Texas during a major hurricane hitting the coast most on the road 20 hours or more but we do not dismantle or attack the business for a Mother Nature event. So who takes Southwest's place if decimated. So Southwest decides to not take the chance for plane crashes and gets punished for it. Was the Air Force and commercial flights as in cargo in flight during those times? One story on CNN showed someone missed out on a transplant so if medical emergency could not fly that tells you it was unwise to fly. Making money and putting people's lives in danger is more important than keeping people safe. Emergency first responders were hindered in thousands of towns. The systems were down like during a hurricane. It is hunker down not wander around. So they canceled due to technology issues but we like the cheap tickets don't we. Oh we love to to gripe.

NEXT SOUTHWEST PROBLEM IS LUGGAGE!
Stolen items from our luggage. After spending two days at Chicago O’Hare airport and finally making it home for Xmas, we discovered items were stolen from our luggage!!
Yes, after the flight nightmare now this. The news media has not reported on the this at all. I’m sure we were not the only ones this happened to. Customer Service and website have been unavailable to make a report. Has anyone else had items stolen from their checked luggage during this holiday fiasco? TSA went shopping in our luggage and stolen thousands. Happy Holidays

Loving CNN coverage of SWA meltdown! We don’t have a stranded story, but suggestion for a story on TIMELY return of luggage pulled from canceled departures. We rebooked our daughter back to NYU from Denver on another airline, but had to send her with no clothes. Now they can’t tell her anything besides perhaps Jan 1 at soonest. Why? We met passengers in line for hours on day 5-6 of no luggage from cancelled departures and no info. Just long lines and long hold times for no info. Give people back their luggage. Looking back, our daughter’s Tuesday flight had a high probability of cancelling. They kept checking bags and adding to the baggage aspect of the meltdown. We have tried to go get ourselves and they won’t allow access. They pulled bags from cancelled flights. Where did they put them? Why can’t people claim their own bags? Eight days in? They are telling her bag is still at DEN somewhere but no way to get it. At some point it may make it to LGA. Planes are flying. They could have put on other airlines that have been flying the entire tine. Covered locally in Denver, but not hearing anything from SWA. Many across country are in same boat. Thanks for listening!
