There are some oils that can't be refined here because we don't have the refineries to refine it so we sell it to the highest bidder. Since we use more than we pump, we have to get it elsewhere. We have been getting oil from Russia since 2000 and through all 4 years of trump. Trump lied when he said we were weren't getting oil elsewhere. Biden issued more drilling permits than trump did in his first year. If the oil industry would build more refineries, we could become oil independent.
