1ºMary Johnson The way it's "supposed to be" is to have a functional government. Giving ONE member the ability to vacate the chair can cause vast amounts of disruption and should only be utilized for a good reason, not because some extremist has beef with a decision that they may make in the future. And over the last 10 years, both parties (though I'd have to say more Republicans) have introduced harder-line members to their caucus. And now with this Republican-majority Congress, this hard-line element will now permeate into the Rules committee dictating House procedures. This is just inviting chaos and dysfunction, the complete opposite of what voters expect out of their government.

In saying that, wrong is wrong and right is right in any circumstance. Our household embraces right and left and I understand that things can get emotional at times but there was no need to ACT like thugs. Once again the middle class will pay for the luxuries of the wealthy, thanks to increased interest rates, increased costs of staples, food, housing, everything, in fact.
Thanks to the republican party, trump and his cronies, millions died due to covid deniers, anti vaxers (of course trump and his cronies all got their vaccinations and are still getting them). Bridges that are collapsing due to lack of maintenance... because Republicans are being fiscally responsible, as they give themselves pay raises, fantastic healthcare and of course reduced taxes... because "trickle down economics" works so well!!!
I have very little respect for any politician BUT the Republicans are the worse of the worse and if you can't see that, you just don't want to.
Quite frankly, I'm amazed at how quickly President Biden and his democratic team are putting America back together. Pity! A couple more years of responsible government, actually working together for America, would have put America back in the black. Then, as usual, Republicans would be reelected... and down the sewer America goes!

I thought Dems campaigned on "saving our democracy." They feigned and cried daily during the campaign. What went on in the House with vigorous debate, exchange of ideas, free speech is the epitome of the democratic process.
